Alligator :

Alligators have a long rounded snout, which allows


breathing while the rest of the body is underwater.
Juveniles have yellow tail stripes; adults have dark stripes
on the tail. It is easy to distinguish an alligator from a
crocodile by the teeth.Alligators are well camouflaged to
remain hidden while resting or hunting.
The american alligartor can be up to 18feet
long(5meters),but females are smaller .it can weight 450-
600 pounds,however females are smaller.the amercican
alligator’s color can be green,brown and black

*Alligators are usually found in slow-flowing


freshwater rivers, but also inhibit swamps, marshes,
and lakes.their habitat is called a hole
Abilities /behavours
*Alligators are predators and they
are nocturnal .During the day they often lie at the
water's edge in large numbers, sunning themselves.
At night they retreat to the water, where they live
solitary lives and establish individual territories
they can jump and climb - They can swim, run and
jump.Even from a state of rest, alligators can jump
up to six feet into the air!
Like most reptiles, they are cold-blooded. That
means that they are unable to control their
temperature internally.

Food/diet:
Alligators aren't picky about what they eat. They are
carnivores, so any type of prey is a meal for these reptiles.
Alligators can eat fish, birds, small mammals and other
reptiles. alligators also eat fruit.
