WHAT ARE THE THINGS
INTERACTING IN THE ECOSYSTEM?
An ecosystem is a community made up of living and nonliving things
interacting with each other. Nonliving things do not grow, need food, or
reproduce. Some examples of important nonliving things in an ecosystem
are sunlight, water, air, wind, and rocks. Living things grow, change,
produce waste, reproduce, and die
WHAT IS ENERGY FLOW IN
ECOSYSTEM?
Energy flows through an ecosystem in a one-way stream, from primary
producers to various consumers. A food chain is a series of steps in
which organisms transfer energy by eating and being eaten. Food chains
can vary in length. An example from the Everglades is shown.
