водить, гр. trepo — tropos (повертаюсь — поворот);
ēō – (гот. iu): у діалектах мав форму īō: cēōsan (to choose)
rās - rison - risen (to rise) у I класі сильних дієслів; bēodan - bēad - budon - boden у II
класі), так і виступав засобом словотвору для іменників: faran (to go, to travel) → fōr (a
trip).
(Breaking)
> earm, æld > eald, æhta > eahta, sæh > seah
e > eo перед "r+final", "lc, lh, h +final", а також перед останнім h:
herte > heorte, melcan > meolcan, selh > seolh, feh > feoh
(Palatalization)
e > ie (gefan > giefan) a > ea (scacan > sceacan)
æ > ea (cæster > ceaster) o > eo (scort > sceort)
æ' > éa (gæ'fon > géafon)
8
голосними): gōd (a god).
випадку звук з велярного перетворюється на палатальний: giefan (to give), dæg (a day).
wīf (a wife; глухий) - wīfes (одзвінчений); wearþ (a becoming; глухий) - weorðan to
become;одзвінчений).
cild [kild] > [child]; scip [skip] > [ship];
[g], [cg] >[dj]: bricg [bricg] > [bridj]
n випав перед h, f, s, p: bronhte > brōhte, sonfte > sōfte

sceþþu.
þū (thou), ic (I), þis (this), sittan (to sit), bēōn (to be), brōþor (brother).

They sailed from distant lands. She was killed in the
skirmish right in the king’s hall. The warrior abandoned the ship because it would drown soon. I
shall slay you and all your kin for you have committed a grisly crime. He will not capture this
treasure.

20
1) NGEN + NNOM: wigendra hleo, synces brytta, wintra worn, eorla hleo, folces weard,
folces hyrde, rices weard, Wedra helm, hringa þengel, werodes wisa, wigena strengel,
mancynnes feond, godes ondsaca, Grendles guðcræft, sweorda gelac, borda gebræc, hæleþa
hryre;
2) NNOM + NGEN : goldsele gumena, niceras nihtes, eodor Scyldinga, hordweard hæleþa,
freowine folca, eodor Ingwina, frean Ingwina, helm Scyldinga, dryhten Geata, wer wiges.
3) Adj +N: sincfage sel, harne stan, windige næssas, steap stanhliðo, neowle næssas,
frecne fengelad, uncuð gelad, cuþe stræte, cealdum cearsiðum, gomelra lafe, ealde lafe,
wælfagne winter, niþende niht, heaðorof cyning, eald weard, selestan sæcyninga, wrað werod,
garcene man, gearo guðfreca, atol æglæca, atol inwitgæst, sellice sædracan, nacod niðdraca,
frecne fyrdraca, gromheort guma, gryrelicne gist, eorlic ellen, blædfæstne beorn, widcuðne
man, fyrdwyrðe man, hate heaðowylmas;
4) N +Adj: medoærn micel, beahsele beorhta, nihtbealwa mæst, wigena strengest,
guðrinc goldwlanc, wigend weorðfullost, mandryhten mægenes, merewif mihtig, mod micel,
geosceaft grimme, herenið hearda.
NGEN + NNOM →NGEN + [Adj Stem + NNOM Stem] (Grendles guðcræft); NNOM + NGEN →
[NGEN Stem +NNOM Stem] + N GEN (hordweard hæleþa) або NNOM + NGEN → [Adj Stem +NNOM Stem]
+ NGEN (goldsele gumena); Adj +N→ [N Stem +Adj Stem] +N (wælfagne winter, garcene man)
або Adj +N → Adj + [N Stem +N Stem], (atol inwitgæst, sellice sædracan); N +Adj→ [N Stem +N
Stem] + Adj (beahsele beorhta) чи N +Adj→ [N Stem +N Stem] + [N Stem + Adj Stem] (guðrinc
goldwlanc).
Adj+N+Adj→ Adj+[N Stem +N Stem] +Adj
(egeslic eorðdraca ealdre) або Adj+N+Adj→ [NGEN + Adj]+N+Adj (manna mæst mærða
gefremede). Adj+N+NGEN
(mæra maga Ecgðeowes, mæra maga Healfdenes).

ст. a. c. a.
Змінились: с [kї], sc [sk'], eg [g'], g [g, x, j], h [h, h'].
[k'] - на поч. с. а. періоду > африкату [tS]; на письмі передається як ch; ст. a. cild > с. a. child [tS]
[sk'] > [S] з написанням sh (ssh, sch): ст. a. scip - с. a. ship [S]
[g'] > [dZ] з написанням dg, gg: ст. a. brycg - с. a. bridge [dg].
Палатальне g > у, І: ст. a. bycgan - с. a. biggen, beggen, buyen, byen (buy); fleage -flye, flie (fly),
fleogan - fleyen, fluen (fly)
Велярне g > w: ст. a. boga - с. a. bowe (bow), sorg - sorwe (sorrow).
голосний або перейшовши в [f]: ст. a. leoht, lieht > с. a. light [lixt] > [lait], plog, ploh > plough
[plux] > [plau], genog, genoh > ynough [inux] > [inuf].
випадає - ст. a. hlæfdige > lavdi > laudy > lady, hēāfdes (род. відм. від heafod) > hevdes > hēd;
23
на початку слова h випадає перед сонорними: hl > I - hlaford > lōverd (lord); hr>r – hring > ring; hn
> n - hnutu > nute (nut).
l випадає перед [tS]: ст. a. hwilc > c. a. which, swylc > suche > such;
w випадає перед u: ст. a. sweostor > c. a. swuster > suster > sister; swylc > swuch > suche > such.
ст. a. eg > с. а. еу, еі — ст. a. weg > с. a. wey, wei (way), legde >leide (laid)
ст. a. egl > с. а. еil — ст. a. segl > c. a. seil (sail)
ст. a. eg > с. а. еу, ei OE heg > c, a. hei, hey (hay)
ст. a. eg > с. а. і ст. a. eage > с. а. ege > iе (eye)
ст. a, æg> c. a. ay, ai - ст. a. daeg > c. a. day, dai (day), sægde → c. a. saide (said)
ст. a. æg > c. a. ey, ei — c. a. cæg > keie (key)
ст. a. ag > с. a. aw - ст. a. dragan > с. a. drawen, drauen (draw)
ст. a. āg > с. a. ōu, ōw - ст. a. agen > c. a. ōwen, ouen (own),
ст. a. āw > с. a. ōu, ōw — ст. a. blawan > с. a. blowen, blouen (blow)
ст. a. og > c. a. ow - ст. a. boga > c. a. bowe (bow)
ст. a. alg > c. a. alw - ст. a. galge > c. a. galwe (gallows)
ст. a. org > c. a. orw - ст. a. morgen > c. a. morwen (morning)
а. i + g > с. а. ī — ст. a. tigele > c. a. tīle (tile, brick)
а. ī + g > с. а. ī — ст. a. stigan > c. a. stien (to climb)
а. у + g > 1) с. а. ī, і - ст. a. bygan > c. a. bien (bend), 2) с. а. üi büіеn, 3) півд. ei beien
а. u+g > с. а. ū - ст. a. bugan > c. a. buwen, buuen, bowen (bow)
а. Іс >с. a. ich > і > І
а е + h > с. a. ih - ст. a. heah, heh > c. a. heigh, high
а а + h > c. a. auh - ст. a. naht>с. a. naught (nothing)
а. ā+ h > c. a. ouh —ст. a. dāh > с. a. dough (dough)
а. о + h > с. a. ouh — ст. a. brohte > с. a. broughte (brought)
а. ō + h > c. a. ōuh, uh — ст. a. bōh > c. a. bough (bough, branch)
а. ū + h > с. a. uh — ст. a. rūh > с. a. rough (rough )
ст. a. ēōw > c. a. eu (ew) — ст. a. neowe > c. a. nēwe (new), ст. a. ceowan > c. a. chewen (chew)
ст. a. ōēw > с. а. ēu — ст. a. sleowþ > c. a. sleuthe (idleness)
ст. a. āw > c. a. ōw —ст. a. cnāwan > с. a. knōwen (know)
ст. a. ōw > с. а. ōu —ст. a. stōw > c. a. stou (place)
>cause, because.
