i. He/she will ensure the implementation of Pharmacy Services issued vide departmental letter
no.SO(HP)HOS-PSE/2020 dated:01.09.2020 in respective hospital.
ii. He/she shall act as the Incharge of Pharmacy/Main Medicine Store of respective hospital and shall
report to the Medical Superintendent of the hospital for day to day issues.
iii. He/she shall assign duties to all Pharmacy Staff (Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians) in the
hospital, train, monitor and supervise their work as and when required. He/she shall make rosters
of pharmacists and other staff of pharmacy department and will share with the hospital
management.
iv. He/she shall manage or cause to manage the inventory and stock of medicines (Drugs and
therapeutic goods as defined under the Drugs Act 1976, the DRAP Act 2012 and the rules framed
thereunder). This shall include receiving of stock, maintain stock register, distribution to wards or
patients, recall and other related affairs.
v. He/she shall ensure compliance to on-line systems (MIMS, LP Portal, IMS etc.)
vi. He/she shall open and close or cause to open and close in her/his presence, the ware house and
storage areas where medicines are kept (except the medicines kept by nurses in wards for a
temporary period, before administration to the patients).
vii. He/she shall not be assigned any other duty or task within the hospital except if specific
responsibility notified by the Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department.
2. This Notification shall supersede the notification if previously issued, in this respect for the said health
facilities.
