Literacy Writing

We will be reading books that focus on

the seasons.
Our unit essential question is: How does
seasonal change impact people, animals, and
plants? Our focus this week will be on winter
and fall.

Phonics/Phonemic Awareness: ss and zz in one

Children will learn how to create a graphic
season organizer on each season. They
will write down information/facts that
happens to people, animals, and plants
during each of the season.
Children will choose an animal and write 4
facts about their animal to share with
classmates.

Math Science- Push and Pulls

In math students are beginning to use not just
objects and drawings to model “put together” and
“take apart” situations, but they are now beginning
to use expressions and equations.
Children have been introduced to number bonds.
They will continue to work on composing and
decomposing number up to 10.
In Science we have been learning about
how and why things move so that we can
design our own pinball machines.
Children will create their pinball machine.
Vocabulary: Force, Exert, Engineer,
Object, Visualize, Push, and Pull, Cause
and Effect

Suggested homework: Practice Sight words and high frequency words. Use left and right when talking.
