Particle Filter Removal


and Installation
For detailed instructions, see the on-board documentation.

Removal
1. Perform the Empty Liquid System procedure from the Maintenance screen.
Verify that the Empty Liquid System procedure succeeded.
IMPORTANT: The row for that task on the Maintenance screen will turn
red if it fails.
2. Power down the system.
3. Turn the two quarter-turn fasteners to the left with a flat-head screwdriver to
release the left side panel.
4. Release the particle filter tubing from the clip.
5. Disconnect the particle filter from the Liquid System tubing by gently grasping the
tubing and pulling up on the particle filter to release it.

If replacing both particle filters, disconnect and install one at a


CAUTION:
time to avoid confusion.

6. Turn the coupling to the left to loosen it, and remove it from the two-way valve.
7. Remove the particle filter, including the attached tubing, and discard it.

Installation
1. Connect the particle filter to the two-way valve, and turn the coupling to the right to
tighten it.
2. Connect the particle filter to the Liquid System tubing by holding the tubing and
pushing the particle filter down into the tubing until it is fully seated.
3. Push the particle filter tubing into the clip to secure it.

Removal
1. Release the particle filter tubing from the clip.
2. Disconnect the particle filter from the Liquid System tubing by gently grasping the
tubing and pulling up on the particle filter to release it.
3. Turn the coupling to the left to loosen it, and remove it from the flow sensor.
4. Remove the particle filter, including the attached tubing, and discard it.

Installation
1. Connect the particle filter to the flow sensor and turn the coupling to the right to
tighten it.
2. Connect the particle filter to the Liquid System tubing by holding the tubing and
pushing the particle filter down into the tubing until it is fully seated.
3. Push the particle filter tubing into the clip to secure it.
4. Power on the system.
5. From the Maintenance screen, perform Fill Liquid System - Deionized Water,
perform Fill Liquid System - Saline, perform the Pump Test.
Check the condition of the tubing, and verify the following:
• The tubing is properly connected and secured.
• The tubing is not pinched, and has no bends or twists. This
CAUTION:
could prevent liquid from reaching the Pipette.
• There are no leaks in any of the tubing or connections.
If any of these conditions are not verified, repeat the steps of
this procedure.
6. Install the panel. Place the bottom edge of the panel into the frame so the tabs are
in the two slots, and then push the top of the panel against the frame.
7. Using a flat-head screwdriver, turn the two quarter-turn fasteners to the right to
secure the panel.
