Contrastive analysis of English and Spanish

1) Choose two or three vowels from English and think about a pedagogical approach
that allows us to teach these vowels at an elementary level of students of English as
L2, trying to state the differences between the English and Spanish vowels (that is to
say, do not teach /ɑ:/ as the "long a" or /æ/ as the "short a", but rather think about an
approach that allows teaching the production and perception strategies of these
sounds without equating them with Spanish vowels that have another point of
articulation). It is allowed to use the comparison with Spanish, but not to reduce
English vowels to "other versions" of Spanish vowels. The comparison should be to
present differences between the vowels of both languages.
