Simple Future

We use the simple future to talk about future actions.


I am going to have an exam tomorrow..

ATTENTION!

It expresses events that are certainly going to happen.


Affirmative

subject + verb to be + going to + infinitive verb

She is going to move to another city next year.

(Ela se mudará para outra cidade no ano que vem.)


Negative

subject + verb to be (not) + going to + infinitive verb

She is not going to move to another city next year.

(Ela não se mudará para outra cidade no ano que vem.)


Interrogative

She is not going to move to another city next year.

Is Sally going to move to another city next year?


Remember

You can always use the contracted form of the verb to be.

Ted is going to have piano classes every Monday.


Ted's going to have piano classes every Monday.

Ted is not going to have piano classes every Monday.


Ted isn't going to have piano classes every Monday.
