1. What are the five basic operations performed by any compute system
2. Draw a block diagram to illustrate the basic organization of computer system and
explain the function of various unit
3. What is input device? How does it differ from output device
4. Differentiate between RAM and ROM. Also distinguish between PROM and EPROM.
5. What is cache memory? How is it different from primary memory?
6. Write short note on (a) control unit (b) Random access memory (RAM) salary?
Answer
1. Inputting
2. Processing
3. Storing
4. Outputing
5. Controlling
(2)

(3)
An input device is piece of equipment used to provide data and control signal's to
an information processing system
(B). An input is connected to a computer that send out data into the computer,
while an output device is connected to a computer that receive incoming data.
(4)
RAM the primary storage is reserved a(Ram) because it is possible to randomly
select and use any location of the memory directly store and setrieve data.
ROM is a another memory in computer which is called (ROM) again it's IC inside the
PC that foam the ROM.
PROM it's not possible modify increase program stored in ROM but it possible for us
to store our program in Promchip.
EPROM can be programmed time and again by erasing the information stored earlier in
it.
(5)
Cache memory is faster than main memory it consumer less access times as compared
to main memory.
Primary memory a callection of items of the same type stored in hidden or in
accessible place.
(6)
Control unit (CU) is circuit with in a computer process or that directs operations.
RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (RAM) is the hardware in a computing device that provide
temporary storage for the operating system (OS).
