from Washington, United States. We invited him for this
very important topic about Microsoft Technology.
To introduce, his name is Bill Gates. In terms of his
background, He is a college dropout. He was a computer
hacker. He was arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico in
1977.
BUT!!
He is now a technologist, business leader, and
philanthropist. Principal founder of Microsoft
Became the world's youngest-ever billionaire at the age
of 31 in 1987. Had a net worth of $116 Billion in 2020.
Without further ado, let us welcome and give a round of
applause for Mr. Bill Gates!
Hello! I am Bill Gates, Chairman of Microsoft. Beside me
are my friends namely Ric Weiland, Kent Evans, and
Paul Allen. You will get to know about them later. In this
class, I am going to introduce to you what Microsoft
Technology is all about.
FIRST MICROSOFT ORIGIN
Microsoft Technology started with a couple of teenagers
in highschool. In 1968, few students in Lakeside School
Seattle had drawn interest towards their school’s new
computers. They wanted to make use of these
computers to build programs that would allow them to do
things like playing tic-tac-toe or even make their own
class schedules. However, the problem was they needed
to rent computer usage time that costs 40$ per hour.
Instead of these students paying that amount, they
decided to exploit some bugs in these computer systems
to use them for free. After some time, everything was
great until the Computer Center Corporation caught
them stealing computer usage time, and the company
immediately banned them from using their computer
systems. Going back, the students banned were named
Kent Evans, Rick Weiland, Paul Allen, and I, Bill Gates.
This has urged us to make use of our computer abilities.
We separated ways, but Paul Allen and I continued
studying more about computer systems. We founded our
own company named “Computer and Programming
Club” and built extraordinary computer systems like the
Altair Computer. We presented it to the MIT -
Massachusetts Institute of Technology. They liked our
program, and from there we named our company
“Microcomputer Software” – now popularly known as
Microsoft.
So, what is Microsoft all about?
Microsoft is an American Computer company founded in
1975 by me, together with my friend Paul Allen. We
worked as software designers for a major computer
hardware designer in IBM. We designed MS-DOS for
them, a software that would make Microsoft hugely
successful. We soon came to dominate the software
market. Years later, we introduced a fully fledged
Operating system called Windows. It continues to
dominate the computing market; it remains as the
baseline operating system on millions of computers
around the world.
In line with this, I thought of three different platforms that
would contribute to the success of my company. These
are Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft
Gaming.
First, MICROSOFT WINDOWS
(Operating System)
- Microsoft first came up with the Windows
concept back in 1983. Due to the skills we entail,
my friend Paul and I decided to create this type
of operating system. The primary function of the
Windows operating system is to manage and
organize computer resources such as CPU,
RAM, and hard disk. The Windows operating
system will complete various tasks such as
opening applications, accessing the internet,
and printing documents using these resources.
- Talking about its versions, The first five versions
of Windows – Windows 1.0, Windows 2.0,
Windows 2.1, Windows 3.0, and Windows 3.1 –
were all based on MS-DOS, and were aimed at
both consumers and businesses.
- However, other versions had separate editions
for consumer and professional use.
- Since Windows XP, multiple further versions of
Windows have been released, the most recent
of which is Windows 11.
Secondly, MICROSOFT OFFICE
- Microsoft is basically a medium for offices and
education.
- It is a suite of applications designed to help with
productivity and completing common tasks on a
computer. You can create and edit documents
containing text and images, work with data in
spreadsheets and databases, and create
presentations and posters.
Apps and Services of MS Office
1. Microsoft Word – Microsoft Word is a text
processing application that you can use to
create text documents. It is typically used to
create academic documents like essays,
dissertations, and theses, because it allows for
more complex formatting.
2. Microsoft Excel – Microsoft Excel is an
application used for creating and editing
spreadsheets. Spreadsheets are commonly
used for working with sets of data containing text
and numbers and for generating graphs and
charts.
3. Microsoft PowerPoint – Microsoft PowerPoint is
commonly used to create presentations using
slides. Though often used to make simple,
bullet-pointed presentations, it has a range of
features that can allow a range of media in your
presentation. It is also a great tool for creating
posters and videos.
4. Microsoft Teams – The Teams service enables
instant messaging, audio and video calling, rich
online meetings, mobile experiences, and
extensive web conferencing capabilities.
5. Microsoft OneDrive – OneDrive is the Microsoft
cloud service that connects you to all your files.
It lets you store and protect your files, share
them with others, and get to them from
anywhere on all your devices.
6. Microsoft OneNote – OneNote is a digital
note-taking app that provides a single place for
keeping all of your notes, research, plans, and
information — everything you need to remember
and manage in your life at home, at work, or at
school.
7. Microsoft Outlook – Microsoft Outlook is a part
of Office Suite that can be used as a standalone
application. It provides contacts, calendaring,
and task management functionality. This
advanced email application is widely used for
business purposes.
8. Microsoft Access – Microsoft Access is a
popular information management tool that helps
you store all kinds of information for reporting,
analysis, and reference.
Lastly, MICROSOFT GAMING
- This platform is centered on Electronic Gaming.
- Microsoft Gaming is a multinational video game
and digital entertainment division of Microsoft. It
produces various brands of video game
consoles and services, game development,
publishing, research, sales, and development.
The most popular invention of MS gaming is the XBOX
- The name Xbox was derived from a contraction
of DirectX Box, a reference to Microsoft's
graphics API, DirectX.
- In terms of video game devices and services,
Microsoft presented a very popular video game
console named Xbox. It has a variety of other
video streaming services built in like Netflix,
Youtube, etc. – the Xbox was also widely used
as a home entertainment source.
When it comes to Video games,
- The video game franchises owned by Microsoft
Gaming include Call of Duty, Minecraft, Warcraft,
Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk's, Age of Empires,
Candy Crush and many more.

our company millionaires,
and I have been entitled as the World’s Youngest
Self-made Billionaire at 32 years old in 1987.
