Key Concepts: Intercultural relations are relations between groups or individuals from
different cultures. These relations can be characterized by the acknowledgement of
different world visions or by the ignorance of them.

Session Title: Intercultural Understanding
Session At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
Objectives: a) determine what being understanding means;
b) seize the importance of intercultural understanding in
maintaining positive relationship towards other people and how
it affects their overall understanding; and
c) actively participate in school and community-based activities
to promote intercultural understanding.
Key Concepts: • Striving to see people as individuals rather than as groups
will help us focus on their positive qualities and have better
understanding about them despite the differences that we
have.
• Active participation in school and community-based activities
will expose learners to people with other nationality,
sexuality, race, skin color, or culture and apply impartiality in
dealing with them.
III. Teaching Strategies

Activity: Storytelling Session
• Introduce the topic. Share stories or case studies
that highlight intercultural understanding.
• Encourage learners to reflect on the stories and
discuss the importance of intercultural
understanding in creating a just society.
