Maggie Deseta is a student teacher at Pequea Elementary School who will graduate from Millersville University in May 2024. She creates lesson plans following the school's programs and uses various assessments and the resulting data to guide her planning. I am pleased to submit this letter of recommendation on behalf of Maggie Deseta. She
will graduate from Millersville University on May 4, 2024 and I have the privilege of supervising her during the Spring 2024 semester. Maggie is completing her student teaching placement in a third grade classroom at Pequea Elementary School in Penn Manor School District. Maggie creates lesson plans that follow district programs. She incorporates a variety of assessments to check student progress and uses the data to guide lesson planning. Miss Deseta has a natural ability to present instruction that results in high student engagement. Maggie is creative and taught a lesson on Lancaster County history as William Penn. Classrooms received an Interactive White Board and Maggie learned how to present lessons and activities using this new technology. Maggie collaborates with her cooperating teacher and has led an After School Math Support Group. Identified students worked on skills after school for several weeks to reinforce math skills. Miss Deseta prepared games for the practices and gathered data to monitor progress. Please contact me if you have further questions. My information is 717-538-3134 or deborah.holt@millersville.edu.
