ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES!
Direction: Analyze the problems depicted in the pictures that
follow.
GROUP 01: Farmlands are converted into Housing Projects.
GROUP 02: River ecosystem dumped with garbage from
illegal settlers and toxic wastes from industries.
GROUP 03: Forested area is converted into techno park.
Guide Questions:
1. Give the impacts of those problems to our environment.
2. What effects do these problems create on the ecosystem?
ENVIRONMETAL ISSUES AND
PROBLEMS
-are the harmful effects of human activities
on the environment. These include
pollution, overpopulation, waste disposal,
climate change, global warming, the
greenhouse effect, etc.
Global Warming is the long-term heating of Earth's
surface observed since the pre-industrial period.
Ozone Layer Depletion
The ozone layer is a layer of concentrated ozone gas. It
protects us from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays.
Water Pollution
The introduction of harmful substances into rivers,
oceans, lakes and ponds, which changes the physical,
chemical or biological condition of the water.
Air Pollution
Air pollution is the result of emissions from industries,
automobiles, and the increasing use of fossil fuels.
Deforestation
Deforestation is the depletion of trees and forests at an
alarming rate.
Climate Change
refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather
patterns. These shifts may be natural, such as through
variations in the solar cycle.
