    Grade Level: Grade 11 Learning Area: Earth and Life Science


    Learning Competency from the CG/MELCs:
    The learners will be able to classify rocks into igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic (S11/12ESIb-10)
    Content( Noun): Rocks
    Skill (Verb): classify/collect
    KUD Unpacked Learning Competency (2 to 3 Assessment Task/Activity
    each)
    Knowing (K) Identify the three basic rock types. Have the students identify the
    characteristics of each rock depending on
    their appearance, texture, color, and layers
    (or bands).
    Understanding (U) Describe the relationships between rock Provide reading materials to learners and
    types and the origin and environment of ask them to answer questions.
