Detailed Lesson Plan in Mathematics 11

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to;
1. Prove statements on triangle congruence.
2. Apply triangle congruence to construct perpendicular lines and angle bisectors.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Triangle Congruence
References: Book General Mathematics second edition (lesson 4, Pages 224-
241.).
Compound Interest,( https://youtu.be/2US7zx_tGTw?si=zUUhZw10BxpYCzKk )
Materials: Laptop , Instructional materials, Visual Aids, Activity Sheets.
Teaching Approach: Collaborative, Interactive and Constructive Approach
Subject Integrated: English
Values focus: Cooperation and Attentiveness
Time Frame: 1hr

III. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURE

Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity

A. Preparation
1. Opening Prayer
Class, let’s all stand for our prayer.Kindly lead the  (The student will all stand)
prayer  Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name…
( I will calling a random names.)
2. Greetings
Good morning class!!!!  Good morning ma’am Kwen!

3. Checking of Attendance
Class please say your name if your last name are  Yes ma’am!
called. Is that clear?

B. Review
Before we formally start our lesson. Let’s have our
first review on the last topic. 

 The interest charged to a borrower

or earned by a lender for the full
term of the loan.

 Present value is the concept that

What is Interest? states that an amount of money
today is worth more than that same
amount in the future while the
Future value is the amount to which
a current investment will grow over
time when placed in an account that
pays compound interest.

How about Simple Interest

What is Future and present Value?

C. Motivation
Group activity (5 mins)
I will be dividing you into two groups,I’ll be calling out
your names in which group are you. Is that clear?

1. Mariel deposited ₱ 16,000.00 in a bank that offers a

simple interest rate of 1.75%. If she placed the money
for 7 years, how much interest will she earn?  Yes, Ma’am

2.Janice has a loan with an interest rate of 1.5%. The

amount of interest is ₱2,250.00 for a period of 3 years.
How much is her loan?

 Their response will be found on

D. Discussion Orally.

Please go back to your designated chair.

Since simple interest are already been discuss let’s
proceed in compound interest.

COMPOUND INTEREST

( )
nt
r
A=P 1+
n
Is the addition of interest to the principal sum of a loan
or deposit, or in other words, interest on principal plus
interest.

O
Computing Future Value

n r
F=P ( 1+ i ) i= i=mt
m
( ) ( )
n nt
r r
¿ F=P 1+ A=P 1+
m n

A=1000 (1+

0.1
Example;

A=1000 (1+
4 )
4 (4)
You want to start saving money. You deposit in bank F 0.1
for ₱50,000 with an interest rate of 5% compounded
twice a year. How much will be the principal and interest
after 5 years?
Solution;
P = ₱50,000 m=2
r = 0.05 t = 5 years
i=? n=?
F=?
Method :
Step 1: Compute i.
r 0.05
i= = =0.025
m 2
Step 2: Calculate n.
n= mt n= 2×5 = 10
Step 3: Substitute the obtained values for i and
n and compute for F.

F = P( 1+i )n

F = ₱50,000(1 + 0.025)10
F = ₱50,000(1.025)10
F = ₱50,000 (1.28)
F = ₱64,004.23
Simple Interest
Applying the formula I =PrT

I =Ρ 50 000× 0.05 ×5 years

I =P 12500

Future Value ¿ F = P+I

F= P 50 000+ P 12500
¿ P 6250
Example:
Effective versus Nominal Interest for Time Deposit
Account
Find the effective interest rate of the time deposit
account that has a nominal rate of 5 % compounded
monthly.
Sol’n
Nominal rate of interest indicates the rate of interest
and the number of interest periods per year. The rate of
interest period can be computed using the formula:

r
i=
m
Hence, .the rate of interest per interest period for a
nominal rate of 5 % compounded monthly in the problem

problem is:
r
i=
m
0.05
i= ¿ 0.004167∨0.4167 % (rate of interest
12
per interest period)

Effective rate of interest (ERI) is the “real” or actual

interest applied on the principal during one year. It is
computed using the formula:
ERI =¿
Or
ERI =¿
Substituting the values,
ERI =¿
ERI =¿
¿ 0.0512∨5.12 %
Or ERI =¿
ERI =¿
¿ 0.0512∨5.12 %
¿
