Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Once upon a time, three bears lived in

a pretty little house in the forest.
One morning, Mama Bear made
porridge for breakfast. She filled a bowl for
each of them - Papa Bear, Baby Bear, and
herself. Because the porridge was still too
hot to eat, they went out to walk in the
forest while it cooled.

While the bears were away, a little girl

came out of the forest. Her name was
Goldilocks because she had beautiful
golden hair. She was very tired and hungry.
When Goldilocks saw the bears' little
house, she hurried to the door and
knocked. When no one answered,
Goldilocks turned the doorknob and went
inside!
Goldilocks saw the three bowls of
porridge on the table. "Oh, that smells
good!" she said. She tried Papa Bear's big
bowl and said.
"Too hot!" She tried Mama
Bear's bowl and said, "Too cold!" Then she
tried Baby Bear's little bowl and said, "Ah,
just right!" She ate it all up!

Goldilocks felt tired so she went to the

next room and tried sitting in Papa Bear's
chair. It was too big! Then she tried Mama
Bear's. It was too high! Then she sat on
Baby Bear's little chair and it was just right!
Then.… Crack! The little chair broke into
pieces and Goldilocks fell to the floor.

Goldilocks got back up and climbed the

stairs to the bedroom. First, she sat on
Papa Bear's big bed. It was too hard. Then
she tried Mama Bear's middle-sized bed. It
was too soft. Next, she curled up on Baby
Bear's little bed. It was just right! Soon she
fell fast asleep.

Before long, the three bears came back

home. In the kitchen, Papa Bear exclaimed
"Someone has been tasting my porridge!"
Mama Bear added, "Someone has
been tasting mine, too!"
Then Baby Bear cried out,
"Someone
has been tasting my porridge, and they ate
it all up!"

Papa Bear saw that his chair was now

closer to the fireplace.
"Someone moved
my chair!" he growled.
"Someone has been sitting on mine,"
said Mama Bear.
"Someone has been sitting on my
chair,
cried Baby Bear,
"and they've
broken it to pieces!" Then they all went up
the stairs.

"Someone has been sleeping in my

bed!" shouted Papa Bear. "Mine, too!" cried
Mama Bear.
"Someone has been sleeping
in my bed...,
" squeaked Baby Bear,
"and
she's still there!"
Goldilocks opened her eyes and saw
the three bears. She screamed and ran
away. After that, Goldilocks never went into
anyone's house without asking!
