INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Learning at all educational levels has changed as a result of the incorporation


of educational technology, especially educational applications. Focusing on
Cagayan de Oro National High School-Senior High School, this study intends
to investigate how educational applications affect students’ involvement during
this critical time because of its adaptability and interactive characteristics,
educational apps have emerged as essential resources for individualized
learning. The possible advantages of using apps in the setting of SHS, when
students are navigating a significant change, include enhanced motivation,
enhanced comprehension, and dynamic learning environments.
Educational apps are software applications designed to facilitate learning and provide
educational content on various subjects. These apps often incorporate interactive
features, quizzes, videos, and other engaging methods to enhance the learning
experience for users. They can cover a wide range of topics, from language learning
and mathematics to science and history, catering to different age groups and
educational levels. It would discuss the widespread adoption of smartphones and
tablets among students, as well as the increasing availability of educational apps
designed to supplement traditional teaching methods. Additionally, it might explore
the potential benefits of using educational apps, such as increased interactivity,
personalized learning experiences, and improved access to educational resources.
This background would set the stage for investigating how these apps contribute to

1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The aim of this study is to know the impact of educational apps on
students’ engagement of the students in Cagayan de Oro National
High School-Senior High School. The study aims at answering a
number of questions, in particular:
1.What are the educational apps on the students engagement?

2.Why do these apps contribute to increased engagements level in students?

3.How do educational apps effectively promote engagement in various


learning environments?
1.3 SCOPE AND DEMILITATION

This study will focus on students in the Cagayan de Oro


National High School, and in particular its senior high
school, with a view to know the impact of educational
applications on students’ involvement. We will focus on
examining the impact of these applications on different
aspects of student engagement, such as participation in
class activities, enthusiasm for learning and their grade.
To maintain precision and conherence, we’ll be narrowing the scope to
students within the Senior High School level of Cagayan de Oro
National High School. In this specific segment of students, we can study
the dynamics very closely. We will look at the factors such as the types
of educational apps that are used, how often they are used, and any
apparent patterns or trends in student engagement resulting from their
integration into the learning experience throughout our research. This
strategic delimitation ensures that we can conduct a thorough analysis
while providing valuable insights into the impact of educational
technology on students’ engagement within this unique educational
context.
1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The research is made with the aim to provide crucial information


and knowledge regarding the impact of educational apps of the
students in Cagayan de Oro National High School-Senior High
School. By understanding the relation ship between the impacts of
educational apps to the students Academic Performance, the
researcher can take proactive steps and solutions to support
students in achieving their academic goals.
