 Waste Management Projects of local Authorities

General guidelines for the applicants

 All new innovations should be self-innovations and should not be a redevelopment of

another personal property. In any incidence if you win a prize for such are development
of another person’s property, it is legally declared that you are bound to return all the
prizes and certificates to the Central Environmental Authority.
 Applications should be dully filled and complied with the guidelines provided by the
Central Environmental Authority.
 Separate application should be submitted for each innovation.
 Applications should be sent to the Director, Research and Development Unit, Central
 Environmental Authority, No. 104, Denzil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha, Battaramulla on or
before 15/03/2024 indicating “Application for Environmentally Friendly New
Innovations” at the top left corner of the envelope.
 The dully filled word document of the application should be sent to the e-mails of
ajithr@cea.lk & tamasha@cea.lk
  The information of the activities done relevant to the innovation within 2022-2023 years
period should be submitted.
 Presidential Environment Awards Winners / National Green Award 2018, 2019 and
2021/ 2022 are not eligible to apply for this event.

 Basic details of the project

 Valid environmental protection license (EPL)
 Details on green approaches taken
 Financial allocation data for environmental activities
 Details on Surrounding Environment of the Industry/Activity (External Appearance)
including
o Layout plan
o Landscaping
o Displays
o Drainage system data
o a drawing with final discharge points
o If there is a rain water harvesting system, details
o preventive measures to eradicate mosquitoes breeding places?
 Internal Environment of the Industry/Activity
 C (Carbon) and Water Foot Prints
 Optimum Resources management
 Environmental Documentation and Reporting
 Environmental Health and Safety
 Solid Waste Management
 Pollution control strategies
 Legal Status
 New systems, procedures and process invented and introduced during year 2023 to
improve your productivity/process to enhance efficiency/quality of the environment
