THE ICE BREAKER

Welcome to your first speech project! In this guide, you will learn how to introduce yourself to your audience
and share interesting aspects of your life. Follow these steps to make your ice breaker speech a success:

Step 1: Preparation
• Choose three or four interesting aspects of your life to talk about, such as your hobbies, family, or
future goals.

• Weave these aspects into a story to make your speech personal and engaging.

• Practice your speech in front of a mirror or with a family member to build confidence.

Step 2: Presentation
• Dress neatly and confidently for your speech to make a good first impression.

• Begin your speech with a captivating opening sentence to grab your audience's attention.

• Make eye contact with the camera of your computer.

• Use gestures and vary your tone to emphasize key points in your speech.

Step 3: Evaluation
• After your speech, evaluate yourself by noting what went well and areas for improvement.

• Ask for feedback from a mentor or experienced club member to enhance your speaking skills.

• Consider the feedback you receive from others to grow as a speaker.

Remember:
• Keep your speech between four to six minutes long.

• Have a clear beginning, body, and conclusion in your speech.

• Use note cards if needed, but focus on speaking naturally rather than reading.

By following these steps, you will deliver a confident and engaging ice breaker speech that will leave a
lasting impression on your audience. Good luck and have fun sharing your story!
