Broadcast Media

The broad reach of television and radio broadcasts makes them a good choice to serve as the backbone
of many remote learning programs. For example, this pandemic the DepEd well utilized the broad reach
of broadcast media to aid for distance learning of elementary students. There are 3,120 television
lessons and 3,445 radio episodes that are aired in 207 television channels and 162 radio stations
nationwide. We can think that this truly promoted learning during the pandemic.

Digital Media

• AUDIO

o Audios are any sounds that are converted and/or recorded digitally. Audios include songs,
stories, or even lectures that are recorded digitally for the students to hear and learn from. Audio media
are used alongside text and visual media to promote learnings while still keeping the learners interested
and invested in learning.
• VISUAL

o Digital Media, Visual (arts) is the practice of using digital technology to present various creative
arts and images. It contributes in promoting learnings by creating contents like digital images,
photography, animations, videos, and many more that encourage students’ learning and understanding
processes, while still making it efficient and interesting.

• SOCIAL MEDIA

o More and more people have become more exposed with social media, as it helps in keeping the
people up with the news, or anything relevant to them in that matter. AS social media becomes more
and more significant to the modern world, exchange and gathering of information has also been quite
easy since internet and social media are updated real-time.

Internet Media

Because of various websites and social media networks, internet has become a information provider to
help students. Internet media had eased the access of students to find concrete information online to
help them with their studies.

Print Media

Print media or specifically newspaper, provides people credible and up-to-date information.
Newspapers and other print media provide powerful platform and everyone are able to quickly know
information with the use of it. It increases knowledge and awareness on important issues around the
world. It helps us become informed citizens. Newspapers have various articles that it tackles like social
issues, culture, politics, entertainment, sports, arts and a lot more which makes it an essential part of
our modern lives. It also helps people to convey their opinion about important issues.

Using these different types of media to enhance teaching and learning not only complements traditional
but also modern approaches to learning. The effectiveness of using these media builds bridges between
students' knowledge and the learning objectives of their course. Using media makes students feel more
engaged, aids student retention of knowledge, motivates interest in the subject matter, and illustrates
the relevance of many concepts.
