Achievements

"Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement,

and success have no meaning." - Benjamin Franklin

There are many things that we accomplish throughout our lives that shape who we are,
our values, and what we aspire to be. I believe that the many achievements we obtain
throughout our lives are merely stepping-stones towards a greater form of achievement
and satisfaction that requires lifelong continual growth and learning.

I am extremely proud to have received the Jason Lang

Scholarship the maximum total of three times throughout my
undergraduate degree. In order to receive this scholarship,
students had to have a GPA of at least 3.2 or higher. I have
always valued academics and my drive to work hard in order to
achieve the goals that I set out for myself.

I completed this certificate on Ethical

Conduct in Research during my degree in
Kinesiology. Ethics definitely come into
play in the field of Education, so I will be
able to take what I had learned and apply
it to my future encounters in the school
system.

After completing my high school

volleyball career, I wanted to find a way
to stay involved in the sport. Coaching
was a great way for me to give back to
the sport that granted me many
opportunities as an adolescent. I have
been coaching for four years now, and
have had the privilege to work with
both boys and girls teams of varying
ages and levels.

I continued on to complete my Level 1 Coaching

Certification for volleyball through the National Coaching
Certification Program (NCCP). I am currently in the process
of completing my Level 2 Certification. Coaching has taught
me so much about how to work with youth and the
importance of providing many different ways of teaching
skills, as every individual learns differently. Coaching was the
window that fully opened up my passion for teaching.

In my mind, the greatest achievement I

have attained thus far is my degree. I am
honoured to hold a Bachelor of Kinesiology
majoring in Mind Sciences. I learned so
many valuable lessons and gained
knowledge that I will forever be able to
apply in real world situations. I gained an
unprecedented appreciation for physical
activity, health, and wellness. I want to pass
this knowledge on to my future students so
that they can live healthy lives and
appreciate the benefits that movement
provides. My degree in Kinesiology has
shaped who I want to become as a teacher
and expresses the passions that I hold.

Receiving my letter of acceptance into the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Calgary was the

next step in my journey as an adult learner.

Being able to use my knowledge and share
my passions in order to shape the lives of
youth is an incredibly empowering role that
I am extremely eager to take on.
