Secretary, it is my honor to welcome you to this prestigious

United Nations (MUN) and Youth Parliament sessions. These
platforms serve as invaluable opportunities for young minds
to engage in meaningful debates, hone their negotiation

WHAT IS
A MUN?
Model United Nations is a simulation that imitates the
procedures of the United Nations finding solutions for real-
world problems, done through an academic simulation of
the United Nations procedure. The MUN simulation consists
of negotiation, discussion, and lively debates, which is the
cornerstone of UN activity.

OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the Model UN is to provide an interactive educational
experience that teaches in an interesting and enjoyable way about the
United Nations. The process affords participants an understanding of
how the process of international debate and negotiation that we
commonly call diplomacy functions. The simulation of the diplomatic
processes are especially important in this post‐Cold War period when
the world is quickly becoming more interdependent. In this

international scale. The CSW convenes
UN CSW annually to address key issues, foster dialogue,
and recommend actions to enhance gender
equity across various societal domains.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is

a vital organ of the UN responsible for
maintaining international peace and security.
Comprising 15 member states, including five
permanent members with veto power (China,
France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the
United States), the UNSC addresses global
threats, authorizes peacekeeping operations, UN SC
and imposes sanctions when necessary.

The United Nations Human Rights

Council (UNHRC) is a vital organ within
the United Nations system, dedicated to
promoting and protecting human rights
globally. Established in 2006, it replaced
the UN Commission on Human Rights
and operates as a subsidiary body of the
UN HRC UN General Assembly.
 UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT ASSEMBLY is a
global scientific body established by the United
Nations to assess the scientific information
related to climate change. Comprising scientists
and experts from various countries, the UNEA
evaluates the latest research to provide
policymakers with comprehensive reports on

UNEA climate science, impacts, adaptation, and

mitigation strategies.

The All India Political Parties Meet was

formed as a body supplementary to the
Parliament, without any legislative power; a
specific purpose body to serve as a union for
political debates which are seldom allowed in

evolving.

The West Bengal Legislative Assembly, a

pivotal institution in Indian democracy, plays a
vital role in shaping the state's governance.
