ABSTRACT

The eventual goal of the forthcoming 5G wireless networking is to have rela vely
fast dataspeeds, incredibly low latency, substan al rises in base sta on’s efficiency
and major
changes in expected Quality of Service (QoS) for customers rela ve to the exis ng
4G LTEnetworks. In order to deal with state-of-the art technologies and connec vity
in the form ofsmart cell phones, internet of things (IoT) devices, autonomous
vehicles, virtual realitydevices and smart homes connec vity, the broadband data
use has risen at a fast rate.Further, to meet the latest applica ons, the bandwidth
of the system needs to be increasedwidely. This development will be accomplished
by using a modern spectrum with higherdata levels. In par cular, the fi h
genera on (5G) mobile network seeks to resolve theshortcomings of previous
telecommunica on technologies and to be a possible primaryenabler for future IoT
applica ons. This paper briefly discusses the architecture of 5G,following by the
security associated with the 5G network, 5G as an energy efficient network, various
types of efficient antennas developed for 5G and state of-the-art specifica ons
forIoT applica ons along with their related communica on technologies

INTRODUCTION
The world has seen a lot of changes in the realm of communica on. Today we
nomore use landlines. Everyone possesses a mobile phone that func ons 24X7.
Ourhandsets not only keep us connected with the world at large but also serve
the purposeof entertainment gadget. From 1G to 2.5G and from 3G to 5G this
world o elecommunica ons has seen a number of improvements along with
improved performance with every passing day.The 5th genera on is envisaged to
be a complete network for wireless mobile internet, which has the capability to
offer services for accommoda ng the applica on poten alrequirements without
suffering the quality. The ul mate goal of 5G is to design a realwireless world, that
is free from obstacles of the earlier genera ons.5G technology will change the
manner in which cellular plans are offered worldwide.A new revolu on is about
to begin. The global cell phone is around the corner. Theglobal mobile phone will
hit the locali es who can call and access from one country to another’s local
phone with this new technology. The u liza on of this gadget willsurely move a
step ahead with improved and accessible connec vity around the world.Your
office will shrink into your handset with this cell phone that is going to
resemblePDA (personal digital assistant) of twenty first century.5G technology has
a bright future because it can handle best technologies and offer priceless handset
to their customers. May be in coming days 5G technology takes overthe world
market. 5G Technologies have an extraordinary capability to supportSo ware and
Consultancy. The router and switch technology used in 5G network providing high
connec vity. The 5G technology distributes inte rnet access to nodeswithin the

8
building and can be deployed with union of wired or wireless networkconnec ons.
The current trend of 5G technology has a glowing future.

EVOLUTION FROM 1G TO 5G

1 st GENERATION

•Developed in 1980s & completed in early 1990s.

•Based on analog system.

•Speed up to 2.4 kbps.

•AMPS (Advance Mobile Phone System) was launched by the US & it was the
1Gmobile system.

•Allows user to make voice calls in 1 country.

10
2Nd GENERATION

• Developed in late 1980s & completed in late 1990s.

• Based on digital system.

• Speed up to 64 kbps.

• Services such are digital voice & SMS with more clarity.

• Semi global facility

Fig. 2 2G Mobile

11
3rd GENERATION
•Developed between late 1990s & early 2000s un l present day.

•In 2005, 3G is ready to live up to its performance in computer

networking(WCDMA, WLAN and Bluetooth) and mobile devices area (cell phone
andGPS).

•Transmission speed from 125 kbps to 2 Mbps.

•Superior voice quality.

•Good clarity in video conference.

12
4th GENERATION

4G refers to the fourth genera on of cellular wireless standards. It is asuccessor to

3G and 2G families of standards. The fourth genera on isa conceptual framework
and a discussion point to address future needsof a high speed wireless network that
can transmit mul media and datato and interface with wire-line backbone network
perfectly just raised in2002. The speeds of 4G can theore cally be promised up to
1Gbps.

 It was developed in the year 2010.

 It is faster and more reliable.

 It provides speed up to 100mbps.

 It provides high performance like uploading and downloadingspeed.

 It provides easy roaming as compaired to 3G.

 Use of a higher Layer Protocol (IP) .12

13
5TH GENERATION

5G Technology stands for 5th Genera on mobile technology. 5GTechnology has

changed the means to use cell phones within very highbandwidth. User never
experienced ever before such a high valuetechnology. The 5G technologies include
all type of advanced featureswhich makes 5G technology most powerful and in
huge demand in near future. 5G technologies which are on hand held phone
offering morepower and features than at least 1000 lunar modules. A user can
alsohook their 5G technology cell phone with their laptop to get broadbandinternet
access.13

 It is the next major phase of mobile telecommunica on.

 It is 10 mes more faster than 4G.

 It has a expected speed of 1gbps.

 Lower cost than the previous version.

 It is expected to come around the year 2017.14

14
FEATURES

 5G provides data bandwidth of 1 Gbps or higher.

 5G is globally accessible.

 5G provides dynamic informa on access .

 5G is available at low cost.18

 Consumer low ba ery

 More effec ve

 Cheap rates

 Be er coverage

 Downloading speed of 5G touching the peak (up to 1 Gbps)

 Be er & fast solu on.

15
APPLICATIONS

 Wearable device

 Smart medical device

 VR technology

 Transporta on

 Smart hospital care

 Remote diagnosis

16
ARCHITECTURE OF 5G
As shown in the following image, the system model of 5G is en rely IPbased model
designed for the wireless and mobile networks.16

17
CONCLUSION

 3G- Operator Centric

 4G- Service Centric

 5G- User Centric

 A new revolu on of 5G technology is going to give toughcomple on to normal

computer and laptops whose marketplacevalue will be effected.

 The new coming 5G technology is available in the market inaffordable rates, high

peak future and much reliability than itspreceding technologies.
