I. OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the lesson, the learners may be able to:
 Make a career road map as an expression of commitment to one’s chosen career or
curriculum exit.

Choosing the right choice is a big decision every student has to make for it
will impact greatly on his/her future. After they graduate in Senior High School,
students can opt to choose whether to continue their education through acquiring
middle level skills, higher education, employment or entrepreneurship and those
are the four (4) exits:
 Middle level- Education and skills training that may include a 2-year
associate degree. By choosing this career path students will be able to
enhance their prior skills and knowledge while they are still in senior
high school. Students can enroll at any colleges that offers a 2-year
course or any TESDA related courses.
 Higher Education- Education beyond high school, especially at a college
or university. Students here are now engaging a higher level of education
by completing a five or four year course of their choice.
 Employment- A paid mutual work arrangement between a recruiter and an
employee. In here students are taking part of a paid work by using the
knowledge and skills they have already acquired.
 Entrepreneurship- Ability to run a business enterprise. Some students
have an innate desire to start their own business and are born
entrepreneurs.

ABSTRACTION / DEEPENING (10 minutes)

The phrase "putting oneself in another person's shoes" refers to the ability to
understand and empathize with someone else perspective, feelings, and experiences.
It's a metaphorical way of encouraging people to consider a situation from a
different point of view, fostering empathy and understanding. This concept is crucial
in various aspects of human interaction, including interpersonal relationships,
conflict resolution, and building a more compassionate society.

What is Business/Entrepreneurship?

Business is an economic activity that includes activities related to the sales


and purchase of goods and services on a regular basis with the objective of
earning profit.

For example, fishing, farming, etc. According to Wheeler, “Business is an


institution organized and operated to provide goods and services to society
under the incentive of private gain.” People running a business earn income in
the form of profit. Some of the basic characteristics of a business include an
element of risk, an economic activity, profit earning, sale or exchange of goods
and services, etc.

What is a Profession/College education?

A profession is an economic activity that includes activities requiring special


skills and knowledge in their occupation. For example, teachers, doctors,
lawyers, etc. An individual engaged in a profession is known as a professional.
People providing professional services earn income in the form of fees. Some of
the basic characteristics of a profession include a well-defined body of
knowledge, restricted entry, code of conduct, service motive, reward or return,
etc.

What is Employment?

Employment is an economic activity including occupation in which individuals


work for their superiors with the motive of earning remuneration in return. For
example, clerks, managers, peons, etc. An individual employed by others is
known as an employer. People performing their work as per their service contract
earn income in the form of salary. Some of the basic characteristics of
employment include contractual relations, capital investment, reward or return,
qualification, etc.
Questions include the importance of empathy , perspective, feelings and experiences.

1. What is the importance of empathy in understanding others? (Explore the


significance of empathy in building relationships, resolving conflicts, and fostering
understanding.)

2. How does perspective-taking contribute to empathy? (Investigate the role of


putting oneself in another person's shoes in developing empathy, sharing perspective
and understanding feelings and perspectives.)

"Myself in Another Person's Shoes" is a powerful concept that encourages empathy,


broadens perspectives, enhances communication, builds relationships, and promotes
social change. By embracing this practice, we can create a more compassionate and
understanding world, where individuals are valued for their unique experiences. So,
let us embrace the journey of stepping into someone else shoes, for it is through
this journey that we truly learn, grow, and connect with one another.

1. Students are group into four of the four exits.

2. Each group will have a role playing of the four exits they are assigned to after
graduating senior high school and explain briefly why they have chosen it:
 Group 1 – middle level
 Group 2 – higher education
 Group 3 – employment
 Group 4 – entrepreneurship
3. Each person from the group will play as a Student (choosing a career path), Mother,
Teacher, Classmates

4. Each presentation should be 2-3 minutes only.

5. The teacher will present and explain the rubric that will be used to rate the
performance of the students.

6. Students will also be given the chance to rate the performance of other groups. The
teacher will then rate and process the activity.

Processing questions:
