STUDENTS SHOULD BE INSTRUCTED TO FIND THE NUTRITIONAL
INFORMATION FOR FAST FOOD. THIS TYPICALLY IS LOCATED ON THE FAST
FOOD RESTAURANT'S WEBSITE, BUT CAN ALSO BE FOUND ON OTHER
WEBSITES LIKE CALORIEKING.COM OR MYFITNESSPAL.COM.

ON THE 1ST PAGE OF THE WORKSHEET, STUDENTS SHOULD CHOOSE A MAIN


DISH, SIDE DISH AND DRINK THAT THEY WOULD TYPICALLY ORDER FROM
THAT RESTAURANT.

EXAMPLES:
MAIN DISH- BURGER, SANDWICH, TACO, FRIED CHICKEN, TERIYAKI CHICKEN,

AS 1 SANDWICH, 3 TACOS, 1 LEG AND 1 THIGH OF CHICKEN, 1 CUP, ETC.).
THEN, FOR THAT AMOUNT THAT IS SERVED, STUDENTS SHOULD WRITE DOWN
THE TOTAL CALORIES IN THAT ITEM, FAT GRAMS AND SUGAR GRAMS. THIS
INFORMATION IS CHOSEN TO HIGHLIGHT FROM THE NUTRITIONAL
INFORMATION BECAUSE FAT AND SUGAR ARE TYPICALLY HIGH IN FAST FOOD
ITEMS TO MAKE THEM MORE PALATABLE.

DETERMINE THE NUTRITION INFORMATION.

STUDENTS SHOULD THEN TOTAL THE NEW MEAL CALORIES, FAT AND SUGAR
AND THEN COMPARE THE TWO MEALS TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE (1ST MEAL -
NEW MEAL = DIFFERENCE).

FINALLY, STUDENTS SHOULD COMPLETE THE REFLECTION QUESTIONS TO


DESCRIBE THEIR PERSONAL OPINIONS ABOUT FAST FOOD.
