CALL FOR INNOVATIONS IN READING
AND ON LEAST LEARNED COMPETENCIES IN ENGLISH

1. __Inrelation to Division Memorandum No. 537, s. 2022 dated November 9, 2022,
re: “Call for Innovations in Celebration of the National and Reading Month,” this
Office recognizes the efforts and accomplishments of the schools in implementing
their proposed innovations geared towards improving the reading performance of
struggling learners in the different grade levels.
2. This Office then calls for the proposing, implementation, and completion of
innovations that will enable learners to master least learned competencies in English.
Enclosure No. 1 includes the said competencies in English from Grades 4-10 for the
Ist Quarter/Grading Period.
3. The schools with proposed innovation for SY 2022-2023 are enjoined to
continuously implement the innovations in reading despite the assignment of their
previous schoolhead to another school.
4. Enclosure No. 2 includes the names of schools with approved proposed
innovation for SY 2022-2023. The schoolheads mentioned in the enclosure shall have
a meeting on February 13, 2023 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at the SDO Library Hub
for the provision of technical assistance on the adoption of their innovation to their
new work station,
5. _ Schoolheads and teachers are advised to be guided with Division Memorandum
No. 540, s. 2021, re: “Innovated Guidelines in Proposing and Completing
Innovations in English.” Technical assistance may be provided by the EPS in
English, Cherylou H. Ocampo PhD, JD, on a first come, first served basis. For
