Subject: Repairing Illegal Operation Errors Date: 9 Aug 2001

Status: Informational Pages: 2

INTRODUCTION

This bulletin provides a procedure to correct the illegal operation errors that may be experienced
during the system boot up process. Illegal operation errors are seen immediately after the
instrument displays the New Patient Screen. Notice that the patient names do not appear on the
New Patient screen when the illegal operation errors occur.

CAUSE

The illegal operations errors are generated when the application software encounters a corrupted
data.dbf file during the system boot up. Improper shutdown of the IOLMaster is the most likely
cause of the illegal operations error.

SOLUTION

This procedure will rename the damaged data.dbf file and create a new data.dbf file. A bootable
