- If you have any problem with the system such as the question
cannot load, you may click on the home icon and enter the security
key again.
Make sure you check your answers from question 1 onward again as
the questions will reshuffle. Do not worry, all your answers will be
saved by the system. But if it is still lagging, do inform us so that we
can assist you accordingly.

- HINT:
- All the answers will not exceed a 4 digits number. The maximum
number is 9999.
Example of correct answers: 10, 100, 9800.
Example of wrong answers: 10210, 10.20, -20, 1/22

Student login to OCS (Online Contest system) using - Login to the contest platform and start to share your screen (Please

- Please inform the invigilator if you are unable to share your screen.

- Invigilator may ask you to leave the breakout room if you are facing
technical problem in sharing screen or logging to the system. Please
make sure you leave the breakout room as per instruction.
2pm/9pm Make sure you check the following:
a. You are taking 2024 SMGF contest paper
b. Your grade is correct
c. Your name is correct

Please do not keep asking the invigilator for the
security key to start the contest, the invigilator will
give you the security key to enter the contest once
everybody is ready.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL PARENTS:
If you give the security key to any students that are
not in the zoom, both your child and the other
student will be disqualified.
330pm/1030pm Once you have finished the contest, please make sure
you check on your answers again.
Important notes
- The parents are only allowed to help the student to login to the
system especially for the younger candidate.
- Once the student login to the system and start the contest, nobody
is allowed to sit beside the students.
- If parents refuse to leave and continue to help the students on the
questions, the student will potentially disqualify from the contest.

Click on the red [FINISH] button after you checked all

your answers.

You should see the “Answers Accepted” page if you

have submitted successfully.

You will see a “Time out” page if it’s time out. - You are not supposed to stop sharing the screen after you have

Solution
Please login again immediately and the system will automatically resume. Inform
your teacher or country partner about this.
The previous answers will be captured.
Please check their questions again starting from question 1 as the questions will
reshuffle.
Use another device to login again and the system will resume.
WARNING:
This will be escalated to the examination board.
The examination board will only approve to grant you access again if you have a
valid reason.
The examination board will reject any subsequent request.
Please try to login using the Incognito browser as the information is cached.
Security code is case sensitive.
This is slow internet issue.

• How should I position my
monitoring camera?

• Can I drink water during the contest?

• Yes. You can bring along your water bottle when you
take the contest
• Can I eat snack during the contest?
• No. You are not allowed to eat snack during the
contest.
• Can I go to washroom (toilet)?
• Yes. But you need to inform the invigilator and also
come back quickly as the contest clock will not stop.

• Who should I contact if I can’t login to zoom after

disconnected?
• You can either contact your teacher, our country
partner or call SIMCC hotline if you are Singapore
students.
• Do I need to change the zoom display name for
the monitoring device?
• Yes, you need to change the monitoring zoom display
name the same as the contest zoom display name as
showed in your contest pass.

• What device can I use for the monitoring zoom?

• You can use any smart device such as your mobile phone,
ipad, tablet to login to your monitoring zoom link.
• Can I use phone, tablet or ipad to take the contest?
• NO. Only laptop or desktop is allowed to take the contest.
• Are the parent zoom the same as monitoring zoom?
• Yes. We just rename parent zoom to monitoring zoom cos
some parents are confused with the word “Parent” and
thought that only parent can setup the monitoring zoom
device.

• Does the monitoring zoom device need to be

there throughout the entire competition?
• Yes, Monitoring zoom device is only MANDATORY for
the competition cos we need to monitor the student
doing the individual contest.

• How does the invigilator know that the student is

not using desktop or laptop to take the contest?
• If you are using mobile phone, ipad or tablet, you
won’t be able to do multiple share screen with the
rest of the students.
• We also have the monitoring device to see what is the
device you use to take the contest.

• Can I use calculator?

• No calculator is allowed for Grade 1 to 4.
• Grade 5 onwards can use calculator.
• You can use any calculator which include scientific
calculator. You cannot use online calculator.

• Where to get the briefing slide and recording?

• We will upload the slide and recording to MDP 1 st
March 12pm sgt.
• We will also give a copy to the country partner, please
get the slide and recording from your country partner
if you cannot access MDP.

• Do I need to have monitoring zoom if I’m taking

the contest in school with teacher?
• If you are taking the competition in school, you do not
need to login to monitoring zoom. Your teacher will
setup 1 monitoring zoom for everybody.
• You only need to login to the contest zoom during the
competition.

 FAQ

• If the laptop disconnected while doing

competition, can I help my child to login again?
• Yes, you can. However, once the child login to the
system and resume the contest, you must leave the
room.
• Can I help my child to join the breakout room?
• Yes. There will be a popup asking your child to join the
breakout room. However, if he is too young (example
grade 1), you can help your child to join the room. But
after your child is able to login to OCS or breakout
room, you need to leave them alone.

• Can I take the contest without VPN from China?

• Yes. There shouldn’t be any issue.
• Can I take the contest without VPN from Iran?
• No, you need VPN.
• My friend late for the competition, can I give him
the security key?
• No, you will be disqualified if you give the security key
to anyone.
• Security key can only be given by the invigilator to the
contestants.

 LOGIN TO CONTEST PLATFORM –
ONLINE CONTEST SYSTEM (OCS)
• You should receive your contest pass either from
SIMCC or our country partner
• Please login to the OCS on 1st March, 12pm sgt
to check that there is no issue with your
credential
• This is to test the OCS login credential. You
won’t be able to take the competition yet.
• Check that you see something similar to the
right picture. If you can see this, it means that
your login credential has no problem.
• If you have any problem, please inform our
country partner (or if you are Singapore student,
please email to admin@simcc.org)
• All students will not be able to start the contest
without the security key.
