N.ANAND VENKATESH, J.,

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the

learned Additional Public Prosecutor once again seeks for some time.

2. On going through the entire materials, it is seen that valid

permission has already been granted by all the authorities and the
earlier petitions that were agitated before this Court opposing the
project was rejected and at that point of time all the authories were in
favour of the petitioner. Therefore, the work that has to be carried out
by the petitioner cannot be stopped just because there will be some law
and order problem. The police is supposed to handle the law and order
problem and that cannot be a ground to stop the work to be carried out
for which there is a valid permission.

3. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the 2nd

respondent and the 9th respondent viz., the District Collector, Salem
District and the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sankari Sub Division,
Salem District, to ensure that the project is completed and necessary
police protection is given for the same.

4. Post this case under the same caption on 27.03.2024.
