Go-Beyond Policy

(Flexible way of work)

Philosophy
Telenor Pakistan acknowledges the needs of different talents and offers Go-Beyond to its employees. The
model is a result of our ambition to become a truly digital and innovative organization. It offers flexibility
to employees in their way of work and enhances productivity and collaboration, whilst enabling them to
enjoy a work-life balance.

Objective
The objective of the Go-Beyond policy is to:
• Define flexible working model i.e. explain way of work and working hours
• Provide guidelines to enable flexible working arrangements that enable productivity and
accountability for employees

Eligibility
All employees in Telenor Pakistan are eligible for the Go-Beyond policy across all job levels and
employment types i.e. Permanent, Direct Fixed Term Contractual, Trainees and Interns.

However, employees who are part of teams which operate on roster/shift-based schedules are not
eligible.

Way of Work:
All employees who exercise the Go-Beyond policy must ensure compliance to the following:
1. Seeking line manager’s approval in advance via Workday - Workday->Request Time Off->Go-
Beyond (Workday can be accessed from Telenor Toolkit or Workday App)
2. In case, prior approval cannot be sought due to any reason, formal consent of line manager will
be required by locking request in Workday the same day
3. Stronger delivery on KPIs and goals during flexible working arrangement to be ensured by
employee
4. Being available for stakeholders and/or meetings to ensure collaboration and speed of delivery
5. Being accessible from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm for calls, meetings and all work-related deliverables

Guidelines
The following guidelines need to be followed by all employees while using the Go-Beyond policy:
• A full-time work week comprises of 40 hours where core business hours for employee’s
availability/accessibility are defined as 9:00am – 5:30pm (including lunch break).
• Go-beyond enables employees to work from outside office locations or alter the working hours
routines with line manager’s approval.
• All late requests due to personal emergencies are covered under sick or casual leaves policy.
• Employee must ensure connectivity and accessibility during business hours on phone, emails and
tools of work (e.g. skype, teams, slack etc.).

• Line manager has the discretion to approve/disapprove Go-Beyond requests and may change or
adjust schedule of employee in case of special business requirements, stretched timelines or
performance issues. All requests must be approved while considering job requirements, KPIs and
presence required during office hour.
• Line managers are responsible to ensure record keeping in Workday.
• In case of extended flexible arrangements, employees can seek prior approval from line manager
based on special circumstances e.g. care of child/elderly parents, health conditions,
domestic/other requirements etc.
• Employees are encouraged to avail casual leave when accessibility and work-deliverables cannot
be ensured during core business hours due to personal circumstances (e.g. medical
appointments, children’s school visit, visa application, bank’s visit and legal matters etc.)
• All below actions and behaviors are non-compliance of Go-Beyond policy and may lead to
disciplinary proceedings (i.e. verbal or written warning):
o Fixed routine of working remotely a day per week, daily remote working, half day every
day or clubbing weekends with working days.
o Unpredictable work routines i.e. late requests to line manager, not being accessible
during working hours, unavailability for meetings, no response on calls, emails or tools of
work which compromises collaboration and performance.
o Change in office location which is not defined as primary/official work location as per job
requirement.
o Not submitting requests to line manager through email or toolkit
• Disciplinary proceedings can be initiated by line manager in case of consistent non-compliance
and behaviors as mentioned above where:
Step1: In case of three observations, the line manager can initiate verbal warning
Step2: Three written warnings can be issued
Step3: Performance or behavioral improvement plan
• Go-Beyond arrangements are offered to employee as a perk upon request. However, the
company holds the right to decide, cancel or change the arrangement based on business needs at
any time.
