FORMULATION
Each 315mg tablet contains:
Acetaminophen………………………………………..315mg
Lactose………………………………………………….200mg
Corn starch…………………………………………….616mg
Starch paste……………………………………………116mg
Talc…………………………………………………………5mg
Magnesium stearate………………………………….31.5mg
INDICATION
Treatment of pyrexia, acute pain in adults and children and primary dysmenorrhea.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Analgesic/Antipyretic
PHARMACOKINETICS
Oral acetaminophen is rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract primarily in the small intestine.
This absorption process occurs by passive transport. The relative bioavailability ranges from 85% to 98%.
ADVERSE EFFECTS
The most frequently observed adverse reactions include lightheadedness, dizziness, sedation, nausea and vomiting. These
seem to be more prominent in ambulatory than in non-ambulatory patients.
WARNING
Do not use the maximum dosage of Deminophen for > 10 days except under the advice and supervision of the physician.
Do not take Deminophen for pain for> 10 days for fever for > 3 days unless directed by a physician.
PRECAUTIONS
Carcinogenity, Mutagenicity and Impairment of Fertility. Clinical toxicity studies in animals have shown that high doses
of acetaminophen causes testicular atrophy and inhibition of spermatogenesis; the relevance of this finding to use in
humans is not known.
Use in pregnancy and lactation. Deminophen is considerably safe during pregnancy. Deminophen is excreted in breast
milk. But maternal ingestion of Deminophen is usually analgesic doses and does not appear to present a risk to the nursing
infant.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Pain:
Children: 40-50mg/kg body weight.
Adults: 500mg every 2-4hrs up to a maximum dose of 8g/day.
ADMINISTRATION
Orally, preferably with food.
OVERDOSAGE
Acetaminophen overdose is one of the most common poisonings worldwide. People often think that acetaminophen, a pain-
relieving medicine, is extremely safe. However, it may be deadly if taken in large doses.
 Symptoms: Abdominal pain, apetite loss, coma, convulsions, diarrhea, irritability, jaundice, nausea, sweating, upset
stomach and vomiting.
 Treatment: Must consult a doctor or take the patients to the nearest hospital immediately. Specialized treatment is
essential as soon as possible. Any patient who has ingested 7.5g or more of Acetaminophen in the proceeding 4 hrs should
undergo gastric lavage. Specific therapy with an antidote (e.g) Acetylcysteine may be necessary. If decided upon,
Acetylcysteine should be administrered IV as soon as possible.

Store at temperature not exceeding 30ºC.
