A request for general information, such as to answer a question, is not a public

records request and is
not subject to NPRA. For example, asking a records official how the agency handles
a job application is
not a request for an identifiable record. Nevada Public Records Act: A Manual for
State Agencies,
Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records (2019).

Any material to be used in the development and administration of examinations;

names and identities
of applicants and Test scores, individual rating sheets, and evaluations are
confidential records pursuant
to Washoe County Personnel Manual 5.227. Additionally, records that implicate
individual privacy
interests and may not be subject to disclosure under the Nevada public records law.
Clark County School
District v. Las Vegas Review-Journal (CCSD), 134 Nev. 700, 429 P.3d 313 (2018).
Washoe County asserts
on behalf of the applicants that disclosure of certain information would intrude on
the personal privacy
interests of the applicants. These privacy interests are nontrivial and/or rise
above the de minimis level,
but are not required to be substantial.

However, in an effort to provide you the information you sought: Human Resources
received 20
applicants. Four were internal and sixteen were external. As listed on the job
announcement (attached)
a Screening Committee reviewed candidate material to identify top candidates with
the most potential
for the success in the job and those candidates were invited to interview. Based on
criteria in the job
announcement four candidates were invited to interview. Two candidates withdrew and
two candidates
were interviewed.

If there is a particular document or record you are seeking, Washoe County is

willing to work with you to
locate and produce those records subject to releasability and confidentially rules.
