Waterproofing Method For Slab - A Comparative Effective Analysis For Ashta Region
Waterproofing Method For Slab - A Comparative Effective Analysis For Ashta Region
The number of pores can depending upon the installations techniques .since these pores are interconnected
within the concrete the water will penetrate through such pores due to osmotic Effect. Concrete is weak in
tension .voids cracks can also from due to thermal expansion shrinkage and contraction so to prevent the roof
exposed to the weather waterproofing is required. Common places in buildings where waterproofing is
required are bathrooms ,basements, loundary room and roof. Rising dampness becomes a problems on the high
side of a sloping property when water becomes dammed against the foundation.in construction a structure or
building is waterproofing with the use of coating and membranes to protect contents as well as protecting
structural integrity. Sometimes the same materials are water in such as pond or pool liners.
II. OBJECTIVES
To analyze water dripping problem
To identify different waterproofing methods
To understand the application of waterproofing material
Find effective methods among above listed methods

Cementitious method –
Top roof slab clean with hard wire brush and then it wash with water. Make the surface free from oil, dust,
graces, etc.
Expand the all external cracks are more than 0.5mm wide .if any should be cut in ‘v’ shape ,then it should
be cleaned with the help of brush and water washed.
The crack are the filled by mortar using acrylic polymer or by polymer modified cement.

The crack are the filled by mortar using acrylic polymer or by polymer modified cement. Cement sand
slurry mixed with additional waterproofing liquid and spread upon cleaned roof surface.
Over this prepared surface, spread the 15mm thick cement, sand mortar ,(1:4 ratio)
Brick bat layer – Soak the bricks one night and take bricks with an average 110mm to 150mm thickness on
the surface created above. put 15mm to 50mm gaps between those bricks and fill that gap with mortar (
cement, sand, water , waterproof agent) .

Finish the top surface and make a smooth finishing layer of 20mm .Use gunny bags to cover the after the
finishing surface in a hot, dry environment curing is done by 7 days. ( prepare the mortar using cement ,
sand ,water and waterproofing liquid)

Apply liquid with roller, spray or trowel .in this process two coats are applied perpendicular to Each other
to ensure an even thickness over the applied area.

Result –
We put block in water for 10hrs then we found that there is no leakage in any method. And after that we put
block for 6 month in water and even there also no leakage is found.
These are the materials which are used for making models. The materials like fRam wire brush .hammer ,
equipment, etc. are collected from the college.
V. CONCLUSION
We study how to find water leakage location and how it occurs
From this we know about the water proofing method
We know about applications of this method and which method is simple. The liquid waterproofing method
is most simple method of above waterproofing method.
Cementitious method
From this we know the Cementitious method and Liquid waterproofing method is very useful Method for
waterproofing and bituminous.
