1. What is the difference between a serif font and a sans serif font?

To help reading passages, there are strokes at the end of each character, this only occurs for serif
fonts of times new roman, while sans serif fonts don’t include the ending strokes such as arial.

2. What is the difference between a theme color and a standard color?

There are 12 theme colors within a workbook, while standard colors are available in 10 basic
colors.

3. A cell containing a number displays #######. Why does this occur, and what can
you do to fix it?

Due to a large number, and small cell size this problem would occur in order to fix it adjusting
the cell size would be necessary.

4. What is the General format?

The normal numbers that are shown once they are typed.

5. Describe the differences between Currency format and Accounting format.

A currency symbol is located within the left side of the first digit within the currency value, a
negative sign is also displayed within a negative number of a currency format. The left margin of
the column in accounting format is fixed with a currency sign. Negative numbers are displayed
in parentheses, and zero values are indicated with a dash. The values are then slightly indented
from the right side of the cell to provide additional space for parentheses around negative values.

6. The range B3:B13 is merged into a single cell. What is its cell reference?

B3 is the cell reference.

7. How do you format text so that it is set vertically within the cell?

To view a list of rotation possibilities, click the "orientation" button in the alignment group after
selecting the "home" tab. Next, choose "rotate text up." Next, return to the alignment group and
select "middle align" to center the rotated text in the cell vertically.
