The concentrations of substances, chemicals and biological agents leached from materials in contact with drinking water, and measurements of the relevant organoleptic / physical parameters, shall not exceed the maximum values recommended by the World Health Organization in its publication guidelines for drinking water quality, volume 1: Recommendations, or as required by EEC council directive of 15 July 1980 on the quality intended for human consumption, whichever is the more stringent in eich case. ‘Material of unknown compo listed by international approval bodies shall be used. Self Tapping Ferrule Strap Completely self contained integral cutter self tapping ferrule and saddle shall be used to connect the house connections (DN32,DN25) directly to PE service lines. The self tapping ferrule and saddle shall be manufacture from: 1, Gunmetal According to BS 1400 Grade LG2 1985 supplied complete with the following: G. Bolts and Nuts of stainless steel to ISO 3506 or equivalent. Bolts should be clearly marked with the manufacturer's name or his identification mark. b. Nitrile rubber (NBR) sealing "0" rings, suitable for service connections shall be fixed between the pipe and the saddle in groove in accordance with Din 16963 and DIN EN 681 or equivalent. Self drilling cutters shall e of aluminum bronze in accordance with Din 1725 and DIN EN 601 or approved international standards or 2. Gunmetal with Plastic according to BS 1400 Grade LG2 1985 and BS6920:1, and shall be supplied complete with bolt, nut, "0" ring...ete, 5 mentioned above (in a and b), The saddles shall be manufactured from gunmetal According to BS 1400 Grade LG2 1985 to suit DI pipes. 2. Ferrule Ferrule cock shall be designed with single outlet of 25, 32 or 63 mm suitable for pipes of working pressure 16 bars. They shall be screw down type that can take the place of a stopcock and designed asa main stem with a swivel outlet control of water flow via a threaded inner plug. The cock shall have inlets with male threads to ISO 7/1 orBS 21 for underground use. The ferrule should be easily "shut off" by means of « spindle attached to the inner plug. The single ferrule should be of push fit outlet. The design of the ferrule shall permit service line installation vie dry/under pressure machines which mount on to the ferrule/saddle assembly. The machine manufacturer's recommendations shall be followed in respect of the tapping machine. The screw down ferrule cock shall be manufactured of gunmetal or gunmetal with plastic complying to BS 1400 Grade LG2 1985 and BS6920:1 with minimum Percentage of Zinc. Complete with nitrile rubber washer in accordance with DIN 16963 and DIN EN 681. 3-Pipe tapping Saddles Saddles are required to be used for service line connections. One pipe tapping saddle shall be included for each house connection. They shall be suitable for a working pressure of 16 bar. Saddle shalll be fixed around the existing and/or proposed main distribution lines of diameters equal or greater than (3"). The saddle shalll be of single strap design and in two parts, flat top and bottom-bolted at both sides, pressure through the disc of max. 1.5" in diameter for main of 100mm diameter or less, and 2" for mains of diameters greater than 100mm (4"), The inside comers of the saddle strap should be rounded to prevent digging into pipes. The saddles shall be manufactured from gunmetal According to BS 1400 Grade LG2 1985 to suit DI pipes. The saddle shall be supplied complete with the followin © Bolts and nuts of stainless steel to ISO 3506 or equivalent. Bolt heads shall be clearly marked with the manufactures name or his identification mark. b-Nirile rubber (NBR) sealing "O" rings, suitable for service line connection to be fixed between the disc and the pipe in groove in accordance with Din 16963 and Din EN 681. They shalll be suitable for working pressure of 16 ber. -The saddles shall be suitable for use with screw down ferrules.
