Alexander the Great

Alexander III was a ruler of Macedonia, he is regarded as one of the best and greatest

rules of his time, and this was attributed to the fact that he conquered the Persian Empire.

During his reign as a king, he was able to unite Greece and influence its culture in the

location that he conquered. As a tactical commander, he was able to devise ways that would

see him conquer more lands and expand his empire. From this, he was emulated by his

soldiers and they become loyal to the cause.

The consequence of his military expansion was that he was able to influence Greece

culture to these new regions. The town he conquered in Egypt was named after him,

Alexandria. After conquering the Persian Empire, he adopted its customs to be one of them.

The next factor is that he made restore the dignity of Macedonia in Greece. The only negative

consequence to the military expansion was that people died in his greed to conquer and

dominate more lands. He orders the killing of his general. The consequences were beneficial

because through his action, he was able to unite Greece and he was able to influence the

Hellenistic period.
