Confined Space:
 It is a Space where the limited opening for Entry or Exit (one opening usually)
 Space is not designed for the working of humans for a long time
COMMON CAUSES
 Lack of oxygen or presence of toxic gases.
 Substances engulfing workers or machinery trapping them.
 Limited entry/exit points and physical obstacles.
 Extreme temperatures causing heat stress or hypothermia.
 Inadequate ventilation leading to hazardous atmosphere buildup.
 Lack of proper training on confined space procedures.
 Failure to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
 Presence of flammable substances and ignition sources.
 Psychological factors like claustrophobia affecting workers' judgment.
 Communication breakdown between workers inside and outside the space.
SAFETY CONTROLS
