Research is the act of looking for information or opinions from reliable sources.

Research is important because it helps us to solve problems and improves our knowledge.

Qualities of a good research question:

1. The question should be specific.

2. The question should be clear.
3. The question should have a lot of information from sources.
4. The question should not be a yes or no question.

Sources to find information:

1. Books, magazines, and journals

2. The Internet
3. Survey or Questionnaire
4. Newspaper Articles
5. Interview

Why is it important to cite your sources?

It is important to cite your sources in order to give credit to the correct author. If you don’t cite
your sources, it is plagiarism.

What information should you include to cite an article from a website?

1. The author’s last name and first initial. (Williams, J.)

2. The year of publication.
3. The title of the article
4. The website where the article was published.

Make sure that you can cite a source using the information from above. It should be
written in the same order: Author, year, title, and website.
