BRIEF PROFILE

Dr. Abhik Kumar Mukherjee is an Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, The University
of Burdwan, West Bengal since September, 2014. Prior to the current affiliation, he was an Assistant Professor
of Accounting and Finance in the Department of Commerce (Morning), St. Xavier's College (Autonomous),
Kolkata since July 2007. He has been teaching post-graduate courses since 2011-12 and had been associated
with Department of Commerce, University of Calcutta and other reputed institutes.
He is a graduate of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata under University of Calcutta (Placed 3rd in the University
merit list) and did his Masters in Commerce from the University of Calcutta in 2005 (Placed 2nd in the
University merit list). He was awarded M. Phil (securing highest aggregate) and Ph.D. in Commerce by the
University of Calcutta. He has professional qualifications like PGDBA (Finance) from Symbiosis, Pune and
Accounting Technician Certificate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is an alumnus of the
prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
He has authored three books on accounting (specifically, two on Financial Accounting and one on Corporate
Accounting), and one book on entrepreneurship development for undergraduate programmes which have been
recommended by various universities of the country. Moreover, he has been a contributor to 18 internationally
reputed books of accounting and finance.
He has presented research papers in a number of conferences and seminars across the country. Dr. Mukherjee
has published a number of research articles in various journals and edited books. Presently, he is the Principal
Investigator of two research projects (ongoing) funded by National Commission for Women, Government of
India and and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad respectively..
He has been invited to act as chairperson and also as resource person in different workshops, faculty
development programmes, management development programmes, seminars and webinars organised by various
reputed Universities and institutes. He has also successfully coordinated national level Online FDPs on various
areas of Accounting and Finance.
