1. Building physics is split into 3 kinds which are thermal, visual, and audial. For thermal
comfort, we can utilize natural ventilation with the use of open windows and doors to
circulate air through a building. Another solution for thermal comfort using thermal
mass materials to absorb heat during the day and release it at night. This helps to keep
buildings cooler during the day and warmer at night, reducing the need for air
conditioning. Some common thermal mass materials include concrete, brick, and stone.
For the visual comfort aspect, natural light is one of the key solutions. This can be done
by designing buildings with large windows and skylights. We can utilize shades and
blinds to cover windows and openings to anticipate too much natural light. The color
of the walls, furniture, and other surfaces in a building can also affect visual comfort.
Light-colored materials reflect light and can help to reduce glare.
Calculations:
10% x (3.5 x 2) = 0,7 (SNI)
for the family room opening, there is a
3,5 x 2 M opening that leads to a
balcony area.

3. The standard amount of lux for a bedroom is 300 lux. In this case, the size of the master
bedroom is 6m x 5,5m. Therefore, the calculation for the master bedroom is:
300 x 33m2 = 9.900 lumens.

The standard amount of lux for a living room is 250 lux. In this case, the size of the
living room is 6m x 5m. Therefore, the calculation for the master bedroom is:
250 x 30m2 = 7.500 lumens.

The standard amount of lux for a family room is 200 lux. In this case, the size of the
living room is 6m x 4m. Therefore, the calculation for the master bedroom is:
250 x 24m2 = 7.200 lumens.

4. For the noise pollution in the area is rain sound at around 90 dB. The WHO guidelines
for night noise recommend less than 40 dB of the annual average outside of bedrooms
to prevent adverse health effects from night noise. Meanwhile, 50dB is a safe noise
level for a living room and family room. To reduce the rain noise we can apply acoustic
ceiling tiles.
