Good afternoon,

Thank you for your emails of 5 May, together with the completed In-Year Application form for your
daughter, and supporting documents – although the Barclays letter is not valid.

Confirmation of Home Address

We are unable to verify your name at the address through the Council Tax system and without this
documentation we cannot process the application form, as we are unable to validate your child’s
permanent home address or calculate the distance from your home address to your preference schools.

Please note: It is an offence to give a false address. If we offer your child a school place based on
information which then turns out to be false or misleading, we reserve the right to withdraw the
offer and your application will be re-considered based on the correct information.

Once the evidence is received to confirm you are now living at the Sutton property, we will then be able to
update the In-Year Application to the new address.

Non-Valid School Preference

You can only name Sutton schools on our In-Year Application form. Therefore, we will process your
applications for:

1. Abbey Primary School

2. Tweeddale Primary School
3. All Saints Benhilton Cof E Primary School

as these are Sutton schools, but we are unable to process the application for Malmesbury Primary
School, as this is not within Sutton. You will need to make an In-Year Application with Merton, as they
are the home Local Authority:

Should you wish to add any other Sutton schools to your preference list, please let us know.

Please ensure that you include your child’s reference number, name and date of birth on all future

Starting Secondary School (Year 7) September 2023 - Accepting a school place offered and
waiting lists

If you are accepting a school place that has been offered, sending a revised preference order or adding
your child to waiting lists please accept this response email as confirmation that your request will be
actioned. If we have any queries regarding your request we will contact you.

All Sutton secondary schools administer their own waiting lists and appeals. Please check the schools
website or contact the schools direct for more information.

Please note that waiting list positions can go down as well as up as new applications are received or
applications are withdrawn from waiting lists.

In Year Applications (Moving into the borough or wishing to transfer between schools)

If you have emailed us an application form, supporting documents, response to an offer of a

school place or are adding additional preferences to your application, please accept this
automated response as confirmation of receipt and be assured that we will act upon the
information you have provided. We will not reply to your email unless we require further
information or evidence.

If you have submitted a fully completed In Year application, please accept this email as confirmation that
the form has been received. In most circumstances we will not be in a position to update you on the
status of your application for at least 20 school days after receipt; you should receive direct responses
to your application within this time. Please do not e-mail or call us about the status of your application
until this time has passed.

If no place is available at one of your preferred schools, you will be given a right of appeal and advised
about waiting list procedures. The London Borough of Sutton has an obligation to provide education to
every child living in their Borough. If at the time of application all schools do not have a vacancy, the
Sutton School Admissions team will then look to provide alternative education arrangements. This may
mean there is a delay in your child being offered a school place. This arrangement identifies a school
which is asked to admit an additional child. They try to ensure the school offered is local, but it may not
be the nearest one and may not be one of the preferences.

If you are a resident in Sutton, your application will be monitored until a school place has been secured
and we will contact you for more information if required. If you live outside of Sutton, you should contact
your home Local Authority for further advice.

There is free bus travel for children in London, and Sutton has good transport links which we take into
account when we have to offer an alternative school.
