How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based (Real world problems) and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing it via an outside source.)

My students will be leading themselves through a Padlet lesson. They will go through the Padlet
left to right and follow the instructions given for the interactive activities. The teacher will be
there to help or guide students if they need it. Before they start of the Padlet I would go over the
learning goal, so they knew what their goal was for the lesson. If this lesson was presented in
person, I would allow the students to work in small group or with a partner. I would also make
sure to keep the lesson engaging for them on the Padlet by having interactive games and
questions for them to complete. Also, before beginning this lesson I would bring in different steps
of the plant lifecycle and get them to tell me what they already know to see their prior knowledge
to the topic. I would use formative assessments by going over to students one on one for quick
checks. I would use Quizizz as the summative assessment to see if they comprehended what they
learned throughout the Padlet lesson.
Managing student learning: During this lesson I created it allows students to be active social
learners by using the Web 2.0 tools I provided. This is because they are actively doing task, I had
assigned them on their device. Having this Padlet allows my students to use different interactive
activities which will keep them engaged. I would make sure to allow them to have turn and talks
after a certain point of the Padlet to see what they understand or don’t and need a little more
guidance on. That would be going from active to passive learning. I would also do a hand up if you
are understanding the lesson or keep your hand down if you need a little more guidance.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

This lesson represents multiple means of engagement. This lesson is very engaging for students
because they get to be engaged throughout the Padlet software. On the Padlet there are different
interactive activities for them to do. Having different kinds of interactive activities for them will
help to keep them interested in the lesson. There are videos and games for them to do along with
questions they have to answer.
Reflective Practice: After creating this lesson on the lifecycle of a plant I feel like this could really
help my students in the future. Later on, in their education when they learn about parts of a plant
or plants in general, they will be able to have this prior knowledge of all the different steps. I look
forward to using these types of lessons in my classroom because the students will enjoy all the
different interactive activities and really stay engaged in the lessons. This could also be beneficial
for students for when they have to create different presentations or projects, this lesson helps
give them different learning tools they could use.
