Shalom my brother and sister in Christ.

Today, I would like to share about “HOW TO BECOME

A BEAUTIFUL BRIDE FOR CHRIST?” Just like how in every wedding, a bride needs to
prepare herself mentally, spiritually, physically, etc. for her bridegroom. Bible told us that a man
shall leave her father and mother and unite with his wife; the same way goes to his bride.

For example, we take a story of Ester in the Bible. In the book of Ester 2:12, there are a lot of
processes how a woman going through to prepare themselves to meet the king. It was not a
simple process, such as twelve months’ preparation: six months with oil of myrrh, and six
months with perfumes and preparations for beautifying women. We all knew that king will
choose and decide the best of everything for himself. So, this is very important for the woman to
look beautiful before the king to attract his heart.

My dear brother and sister in Christ, the church is declared as a bride and Christ is declared as
the head of the church. As believer in Christ and as a church, we have a close relationship with
Christ. We are the bride of Christ, my brother and sister. Just like back in those days, there was
an engagement period in the biblical time which the bride and groom was separated until the
wedding, so is the bride of Christ separate from her bridegroom during the church age. Jesus
promises us He will come back again and bring us together with Him. So, during this
engagement time, we must be faithful to Him, as written in 2 Corinthians 11:2. Further, we have
to prepare for His coming too.

The question is now, how to prepare to become a beautiful bride of Christ? It is written in 1
Corinthians 3:16 that we are the temple of God and the spirit of God dwell in us. It is also written
that fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor
covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will not inherit the kingdom of God. (1
Corinthians 6:9-10) These verses told us clearly that we should not take part any occasion of evil
and sins. We must hate sins because God hate sins.

God has set us apart from this world to act differently because God has a purpose for us, for
divine calling, which is to be holy and sanctify us. This is also because we are the chosen one by
God. It is written in 1 Peter 1:16, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Roman 12:2 says: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Our mind must be like a mind of Christ alike. We should follow and have the
character of our bridegroom, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ possesses all the quality of the fruit and
gift of holy Spirit. Therefore, we must bear the fruit of the spirit. For example, like Galatians
5:22-23, the spirit of love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control. God want to see this fruit in our life. This is the characteristics of a
beautiful bride for Christ.

Next, a wedding garment is very important for a bride. Wedding garment represents being
covered by the righteousness of Jesus as written in Romans 3:21-31. How to protect our wedding
garment? We can protect our wedding garment by following the way of Christ. Depending
totally on Him alone, live in an upright manner and stay away from any evil and sins. Our
wedding garment should not dirty, always clean and not blemish.
My dear brother and sister in Christ, we all must try to be like 5 wise virgin mentioned in the
parable of 10 virgins in Matthew 25:1-13. The light of the lamp should shine brightly, meaning
to say that we need to preach the gospel seriously. We need to continue doing ministry for God’s
salvation. Our oil must be more than enough. Now is the time for us to prepare ourselves while
waiting for our beloved bridegroom to come. We cannot be slumber and sleep. We should not be
like the 5 foolish virgins and the Church of Laodicea. We must continue to pray and fasting until
the coming of our bridegroom. We should guard our 5 senses: what we see, what we smell, what
we speak, what we hear, what we desire. Our thought, word, action, feeling, emotion, and
relationship with others should be very careful. We also must forgive one another. We should
always focus on Christ. Hallelujah.

Our heart must always longing for His return, our Lord Jesus Christ. He is our everlasting love.
He promises to come back and bring us back with Him. We are going to live with Him forever
and ever. Keep in mind, we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus; and not by our own
efforts or works. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Meaning to say not by the work of our hand. We want to
prepare ourselves to become beautiful bride for Christ because we love Him. At rapture, we as a
bride will be united with Christ and wedding ceremony will take place.

I would like to close my sharing today with the verse from Revelation 19:7-9, says “Let us be
glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife
hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean
and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed
are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are
the true sayings of God.” All glory to our God, Lord Jesus Christ.

Maranatha.. Lord Jesus coming soon. God bless us all. Amen.
