Gender stereotypes have existed since the beginning of time. At present, this issue has
evolved rapidly towards the 21st century wherein people are fighting against. However,
gender stereotypes continue to exist, suppressing an individual’s rightful act to express their
own unique gender identity as they are faced with legal, institutional, and cultural challenges.
Young adults, specifically students, are part of the community affected by gender stereotypes.
Because of such, they are part of the major groups in society addressing the issue. Through
accessing their insights to the given topic, this provides further envisions on the voices of the
youth as part of society addressing the concerns of the harsh reality of gender stereotyping
To determine the challenges encountered in fighting against gender stereotypes in the 21st
century. Thus, students from HUMSS strand in Xavier University Senior Highschool- Ateneo
de Cagayan, will be the main respondents of the project. Researchers will secure a permission
to conduct the study from the chosen university. Utilizing appropriate data collection
We conclude that students from HUMSS strand in Xavier University Senior Highschool-
Ateneo de Cagayan, are the fit respondents for the assessment of the initiative.
OVERVIEW
Men and women are characterized based on the traditional gender role as to which are
subjected to the conformity to the gender identity of the majority. The project aims to identify
the challenges encountered by the general scope fighting against gender stereotypes in the
21st century. It includes the context of how the topic has and will continue to benefit the
world today. Accessing the issue through asking the following questions: (1) what are the
challenges encountered against fighting these gender stereotypes in the 21st century? (2)
How are people responding to it? and (3) How do the respondents perceive the challenges
Additionally, the HUMSS-12 community of the Xavier University Senior High School- Ateneo
de Cagayan, will be the participants as it is aimed to ask them about their insights on the issue
as this also envisions to the youth as they are young and are the future of the next generation
to be handling and addressing the concerns of the harsh reality of gender stereotyping in our
era of the 21st Century. Questionnaires with the guided response format to be able to suffice
what the researchers look for from the participants, asking to recall a set of categories.
The researchers secures permission to conduct the study from the University President,
Senior High School Principal for Academics and HUMSS Strand head of Xavier University —
Ateneo de Cagayan Senior High School, the researchers will go to the school to conduct their
study with the survey questionnaires to the Grade 12 students of the HUMSS strand. The data
will be analyzed from the questionnaires answered by the respondents. The researchers will
evaluate and interpret the responses, then put the answers of the respondents in a grid table.
CRITERIA
As the researchers who are aiming to make the feasible report a success, setting the criteria
is a need to be able to monitor its effectiveness. In this report the possible factors that may
contribute to the issue of gender stereotyping in the 21st Century are being determined in
order to set this criteria that will be further discussed in the evaluation. To be able to define
the certain factors that may affect the duration and outcome of the project itself.
These are the following criteria: Addressing the Operational Feasibility in the gender

3. What gender is usually heavily stereotyped and highlighted against in the 21st

The process of identifying the main issue to be able to decipher other options or alternatives
to let the researchers to be able to set the economical and operational feasibility of the paper
itself. Considering the relevance of the topic is important because it is what defines the study,

EVALUATION
The initiative addresses the issue of gender stereotype in the 21st century through conducting
an academic research- wherein assessment of the awareness and insights of XUSHS Grade 12
HUMSS students will be utilized as source of data. The initiative’s objective is to identify the
respondent also, does not precisely have insight to the issue, considering that the majority of
grade-12 students are young adults. In which, as stated by Chanturia, et al. (2016), most
research on implicit gender stereotyping is conducted with one age group – young adults, and
participants also often responded significantly more quickly to targets that matched their own

of the XUSHS grade 12 HUMSS students regarding gender stereotyping, which is a step
forward in addressing the issue as to draw out better initiatives as to effectively analyze the
issue.
The project enhances on the respondent’s insights to address the issue of gender stereotypes
in the 21st century. Students from HUMSS strand in Xavier University Senior Highschool-
Ateneo de Cagayan, are the fit respondents for the assessment of the project. Thus, students
are well-aware and are part of the society that are actively participating in fighting against
gender stereotypes, through them the issue can be further analyzed, and initiatives must then
provide practical solutions. Furthermore, the initiative can serve as related literature and
studies that can provide data for similar interventions, essential in addressing discrimination,
and abuse faced by the gender community which all leads to violations of a wide array of
human rights. Additionally, everyone is deserving of personal develop in their full potential
and live in freedom and dignity. Gender norms that is imposed by social values can lead to
harm. Collaboration with parents, may be done as change always starts in our homes as
respect is a practice that can establish gender equality individuals in order for us to grow in a
safe environment wherein individuals are respected regardless of their gender identity.
