    The pandemic- COVID19 is a life threat.

    Philippines being one of the closest countries to


    China, where the virus started, is among the countries that are suffering from the massive
    impacts of this virus Cagayan De Oro city under the leadership of Mayor Isko Moreno, was only
    placed under Enhanced community quarantine or ECQ on the first few months (March-April?)
    and was immediately put under Modified general community quarantine or MGCQ as the
    mayor opposed to the idea to place city under ECQ, stricter lockdown.

    As of August 2020, the Department of Health recorded a total of 161,253 national case
    tally. Cagayan De Oro city recorded a cumulative total of 206 cases, and its neighboring city
    Iligan has been placed under ECQ as of August 16,2020, also because of the increase of Covid-
    19 cases bringing it to 161 in total. The group Luwas Cagayan, 26 barangay captains of Cagayan
    de Oro City , and the Misamis Oriental governor along with Kagay-anons demands for an
    enhanced community quarantine imposed on the city.
