Scope:

The research will focus on the development and implementation of a system designed to
smoothen the process of checking fines for students within the VLPCC organization. This will
include an analysis of the current manual system for managing fines, the design of a new
automated system, and the testing and evaluation of the new system once implemented. We will
consider factors such as user-friendliness, efficiency, and accuracy of the system. The research
will involve collaboration with VLPCC and will take into account feedback from both the
administrators who manage the fines and the students who pay them.
Delimitation:
Our research will only look at the VLPCC organization within our institution, and we won’t
compare it to other organizations. Currently, fines are managed manually using physical ledgers
or basic spreadsheets. This involves manually entering student information, the reason for the
fine, the amount, and whether it has been paid. There are challenges with updating records,
tracking unpaid fines, and providing students with up-to-date information about their fines.
While we will get feedback from users, our study won’t cover broader topics like managing
student finances or institutional financial policies. As Computer Engineering students, we will
focus on the technical aspects of the system, not the policy or financial implications.
Our goal is to improve the fines management process at VLPCC by creating a more user-friendly
and efficient system for administrators and students.
