March 20, 2024

Dr. Amy A. Sarabia

High School Principal. Olongapo Wesley School

Ma’am:

Greetings!

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing this to formally request permission to conduct
classroom-based action research at Olongapo Wesley School Inc. titled “Mastering Four
Fundamental Operation Through Game-Based”, in partial fulfillment of the requirements
leading to the degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics at Gordon College,
Olongapo City.

The purpose of my research is to determine the effectiveness of using the Math-Piko and
Mathentero in enhancing the skills of Grade 8 students in Mathematics. This study will focus on
the enhancement of Grade 8 students of Olongapo Wesley School Inc. skills in Mathematics,
which will focus solely on the Grade 8 topic from the fourth quarter, “Probability .” I will be
employing a one-group pretest-post-test design, including a focus group interview, to gather
data. My study will be conducted in April 2024, and the participants for this study were selected
through purposive and convenience sampling methods.

By conducting this at OWS, my research findings will provide valuable guidance for formulating
improved instructional strategies that enable students to analyze information and draw informed
conclusions. I assure you that I have taken into consideration all ethical standards and safety
guidelines relevant to this research. It has been reviewed and approved by Mrs. Manilyn D.
Baltazar (cooperating teacher) and Mr. Leby A. Fastidio (Mathematics Supervisor). I am also
committed to ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of all participants, and the collected data
will be used solely for research purposes.
We are hoping for a kind response from your good office.

Respectfully yours,
