INFORMATION
General Information
1. PICF Committee warmly invites all choirs from all over the world to participate in our event,
Penabur International Choir Festival (PICF 2022)
2. Please observe the conditions related to each category: number of songs, age limit, and video
duration
3. The choir may register for more than one category. The repertoire for each category must be
different.
Schedule
Registration
For registration please email us (registration@picf.or.id) and attach the required documents. Please
write “PICF 2022 REGISTRATION – [YOUR CHOIR NAME] – [DATE OF REGISTRATION] as subject/title of
your email.
Video Recording
Please send link the video to registration@picf.or.id. Please write “PICF 2022 VIDEO SUBMISSION – [YOUR
CHOIR NAME] – [DATE OF REGISTRATION] as subject/title of your email.
1. Children Choir
- Age of Singers maximum 15 years old
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
2. Senior High School Choir
- Age of Singers between 15-18 years old
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
3. Mixed Youth Choir
- Age of Singers between 16-25 years old
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
4. Male Choir
- Age of Male Singers 18 years old and above
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
5. Female Choir
- Age of Female Singers 18 years old and above
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
6. Mixed Choir
- Age of Singers 18 years old and above
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
7. Gospel and Spiritual
- Age of Singers 18 years old and above
- Two Gospel & Spiritual pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
8. Sacred Music
- Age of Singers no limit
- Two Sacred Music pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
9. Folklore
- Age Requirement:
* Children choir age up to 16
* Youth choir age up to 25
* Mixed choir age 25 and older
- Two folklore pieces:
* A composition from your own country
* A composition of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
B. VIRTUAL CHOIR
For choirs with NO live recording (edited into one performance video)
1. Kindergarten Choir
- Age of Singers 4-6 years old
- One piece of your choice
- Video duration maximum 5 minutes
2. Primary Choir
- Age of Singers 6-12 years old
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
3. Children Choir
- Age of Singers maximum 15 years old
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
4. Junior High School Choir
- Age of Singers between 12-15 years old
- Two pieces of your choice
· Video duration maximum 10 minutes
5. Senior High School Choir
- Age of Singers between 15-18 years old
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
6. Mixed Youth Choir
- Age of Singers between 16-25 years old
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
7. Ensemble Choir
- Age of Singers 15 years old and above
- Two pieces of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
8. Folklore Choir
- Age of Singers 15 years old and above
- Two folklore pieces:
* A composition from your own country
* A composition of your choice
- Video duration maximum 10 minutes
Judging and Evaluation
A. Intonation
Pitch accuracy, interval and harmony
B. Sound quality
Vocal and performance, including sound quality, vocal technique, balance, blending and other vocal
aspects
C. Fidelity to the score
Fidelity to the score, including rhythm, diction, expression, and other music requirements
D. Overall artistic impression
Overall artistic impression, including style, interpretation, musicianship, programming, and beyond.
For criteria A and B the jurors will evaluate the performance of each piece individually.
For criteria B and C the jurors will evaluate the overall performance of the whole repertoire.
Awarding Criteria
1. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded based on the score of each participant.
2. Choirs with gold medal and the highest score in each category (online and virtual) will be named “
"Category Winner”
3. The jurors will nominate the choirs from online category for the Grand Prix Competition
4. The choirs with the most jurors’s votes in the Grand Prix Competition will be named “Grand Prix
Winner”
5. The choirs from virtual category with the highest score will be named “Virtual Award Winner”
6. The jurors will evaluate the overall artistic quality of each video(s) and presents diplomas according to the
following system:
Workshops
PICF 2022 holds several workshops for the participants. The schedule and further information will be
given later.
