- **April 16**: Commemoration of the foundation of the city of Puebla. Artistic and cultural
activities are held to celebrate another anniversary of the city.
- **May 5**: Celebration of the Battle of May 5, when Mexican forces commanded by Ignacio
Zaragoza defeated the French army in 1862.
- **September 24**: National marches known as “March for the Family” against the
legalization of abortion, same-sex marriage, and adoption for same-sex couples.
- **December 11, 1987**: UNESCO declares Puebla a World Cultural Heritage Site.
- **Municipal Day of Chile en Nogada**: Celebration of the creation of this typical Poblano
dish.
