MAINTAINING SPIRITUAL FERVENCY

CENTRAL TRUTH: Eternal life is a class of existence. In the kingdom of God, there is a way of
living, and that is by being continuously filled with the spirit. It is the only way to live effectively,
eternally and prepare for eternity.

Memory verse: Rom 12:11

“Not slothful in business; fervent in Spirit; serving the Lord”

WHY YOU HAVE TO LIVE IN THE SPIRIT (Eph 5:15-21)

1. Recognize the times, that the days are evil.

2. There is a way to live specified for the Christian.
3. Be very careful, be wise, concerned about how you are living, scrutinizing whether it’s the
way of Jesus.
4. God will judge our works, and our motives- what we did on earth, and how we did it. Heb
9:27, 1Cor 3:10-15
5. It simplifies life and makes it enjoyable. Eccl7:11, Ps 19: 8. You get to do only what has
already been done in the Spirit and life becomes easier. You function from a place of rest.

TOOLS FOR MAINTAINING SPIRITUAL FERVENCY

1. SPEAK!

- With tongues.

-Pray in the Spirit.

-With psalms. The psalms are scripture, speak scripture.

-With hymns. The language of saints, the melodies of our apostolic fathers.

-With spiritual songs. These may be spontaneous outbursts of supernatural melodies.

2. Give thanks to God always. Thanksgiving makes you rooted in the ways of God.

3 .Submit yourselves one to another.

4. Associate with fellow believers. Heb 10:25

5. Actively participate in spiritual activities like soul winning, fasting, giving.

6. Read the WORD OF GOD. It is the sword of the Spirit Joshua 1:8
